Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

BUSH dfta12hd SET TOP BOX

I RECENTLY BOUGHT THE ABOVE SET TOP BOX AND INSTALLED AS PER THE MANUAL. (I HAVE FOXTEL AND A PLASMA TV ) USING THE RED/YELLOW/GREEN SOCKETS (together with the r/y/blue)
NO MATTER WHAT I DO WHEN I TUNE IT IN I ONLY RECEIVE THE ABC HD CHANNEL AND NONE OF THE OTHERS. I'VE LINKED IT TO THE FOXTEL BOX AND ALSO AN OUTSIDE ARIAL AND I GET THE SAME RESULT.
ANY SUGGESTIONS???

SOURCE: Setting up receive set top box and tv for surround sound

Plug the TV to an open channel on your receiver via this output:
*Rear, 1 x Digital audio output (coaxial) ( TOSLINK )
This will look like a single RCA output plug.
Set that input channel on your receiver to some sort of virtual surround mode because it doesn't look like your HDTV has a decoder in it (meaning it will come out stereo and the receiver will have to fake it).
Turn the volume all the way down on the TV and use the receiver to control TV volume just as you do with DVDs.

*Substitute this with the digital audio output on your set top box if you are sending video only to the TV from the set top box (component, DVI or s-video connections). So video goes to the TV, audio to the receiver.

SOURCE: we cannot get our hdb841 to tune into our awa hd

Hi! I believe you have some concern on how to get good picture on your hd tv. I will be more than glad to assist u.. on your teac hdb841- there is a port connection - ant in, you have to connect the ant cable from your off the air tv antena to the ANT IN of the Teac HDB841. then on the back of your Teac HDB841, you have several output connection there like component, coax, s-video, rca and hdmi. since u have the hdtv u need to use the hdmi or the component cable whiich is the red blue and green then access the menu of the teac hdb841 and do a scan for the local channels.. ur tv should tune in to hdmi if u use hdmi cable or component if u use the red blue and green.. i hope this will fix the problem..

SOURCE: connect the hdmi out put of a bush hd set top box

its telling you that you cant use the format that your source is set up for .. like 1080P wont play on a monitor that wont support that ..also hdmi requires an exchange of information between units before it will allow 1080 resolution (thats to prevent recording of high resolution material) the adapter may block that exchange .. if you set the source to 720 or less resolution then its likely to start working .. problem is .. if you cant see it how do you set it .. if your remote has an obvious button for that then you can just try selecting different modes and wait 10 seconds to see if it works .. if its not obvious then perhaps you can temporarily use svideo or composite in order to set up the source machine ..

Hello
Just set your TV idle for external or internal afiel connection and set ti to autotune, and see if all the transmitting stations are memorized or not. Then reconnect the devices one by one and try to find the faulty device.
Seelct autoprogramme, select antenna in and select auto and then all channels. You can refer this porocedure in its manual. OK.

Go to http://vk3khb.gak.net.au/atv/chnlchrt.html#TV_Table

I went there and checked the details vs those appearing on my STB. Went through the manual channel search and changed the frequency to those on the above website. Now all channels work perfectly. I only bought this STB because my last one froze, it appears this one doesn't have the best auto search facility but with a bit of tinkering it will work for you!

Problem is probably with your cable box as you have confirmed that the set is working by using the dvd player, that is unless you have a bad cable for the cable box.
