Dead after storm

After a recent storm when the power went out, my tv is dead. No lights, no blinking, just dead. Is there a fuse or anything that I can replace?

There is a small fuse on the circuit board, near where the power cord is attached but I checked it and it is working fine. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Yes, take the back off, and follow the power cord. You will see a fuse in the board. You have the same problem as I have. I replaced my fuse, and plugged it back in, It made a sizzling sound and blew the fuse again.Maybe you will have better luck, with your set good luck rob

Toshiba 57H83 will not come on, not lights and doesn't make any noise when you hit the power

Open the tV, and locate the fuse. There will be a glass cartridge type fuse, on the main power regulator board. Look it for blown up. If it has blown up, never replace an other in place, until the reaosn for blowing up the preset fuse has been checked and cleared. If you do so, it might make so many other componets to get damaged. If you are not handy dithe internal circuits of TVs', it will be best to contact any expereinced service technican locally.

My tv went dead during a lightning storm. I heard

The sound could have come from one of your power capacitors. You could tell if one of them is no longer operational by looking at them; they will be burned, or blistered, or will be bulging. If this is a CRT type of TV ensure that you only look inside if you are fully aware of how to deal with the lethal voltages that are stored on the inside of the unit.

check The B+ of your tv. If no b+ Check the input AC voltage. If Ac i/p are ok but no B+ Volt maybe your IC in power supply has problem.

TV won't turn on

The set is in protective shutdown because a problem was detected. The 5 blink code indicates that the problem circuit. In this case it is the blanking circuit. Were there any indications of problems prior to the storm? If not, I'll need to lok up this one for the specifics. Do you intend to repair this yourself?

Let me know and I'll provide the details.
Thanks,
Dan

No Power to my TV after power outage

A lot of times its simply a fuse that goes out. Either way someone is going to have to open it up and inspect the fuses first. It 's a fairly inexpensive service call.

Hopefully the fuse took the hit from the storm.

Blinking light wont turn on Toshiba TV CE19H15

Yes, it's quite possible that you indeed may have sufferd from a Power Spike, induced by lightning during the storm, esspecially if plugged in during said storm. I have had quite a few customers ova the years with this exact problem. I always advise my clients to unplug ALL devices during a storm, and for ones that simply cannot be unplugged then some sort of Spike/Surge Protection device MUST be used. As a matter of interest, I have written many a report to insurance companies to support a claim for a replacement.

The TV won't do anything

Power surge and lighting do a lot of damage ,you will be lucky if you only find the bridge rectifiers shorted(maybe just one) and a open fuse, that will give a place to start but expect more extensive damage.Be carefull

TV DEAD

No not sleep mode as in sleep mode it only will turn off power and when the power goes out the sleep mode resets. your problem is most likly in the standby power supply or maybe even in the main supply. If you know how to use a multimeter and about the powersupply circuitry in these sets you should be able to find the fault. If you havent a clue where bto start a tv set is not a place to be experimenting around inside of. Have it looked at by a trained tech
