Question about Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 for PC

Your registry settings for this application was not

I have windows vista Home Premium, HP Pavilion DV6700 laptop. I had Microsoft Streets and trips 2006 which worked most of the time. I would occassionally get an error saying "your registry setting for this application was not copied correctly. run setup again for this application from the location where you originally installed it.

I figured I would buy the new 2008 version and things would be great, but I was wrong. I can't get it to work, I get the same error as above. I have uninstalled the old version and the new version multiple times and tried to re-install it and I keep getting the same old message. Thinking that maybe something was left in the registry I used several registry cleaners to make sure there was nothing left, but still the same error. I have tried all the suggestions on Microsoft's site. I even did several live chats with Microsoft and each time am reffered to another URL. This URL wants me to pay $ 35.00 more, for their program to work. I bought the program and have their OS on my machine and they want me to give them more money. I am at a loss for words.

Here is another one!
copy your _first disk_ (on desktop pc (win xp)) to your memory stick (buy one if u don't have it)
on desktop pc windows xp, install Microsoft Streets And Trips on this operation system (it will work, both disks)
than copy already installed streets&trips (from program files) and _first disk_ file on your memory stick!
then install _first disk_ on your laptop (not full program) means its gonna ask you for full installation or with disk, chose with disk, after you done it copy full streets&trips on your program files on laptop (replace all files), done, now it works!

If you have a pirated version, you will never get it to work unless you get your hands on the patch.

Hi
My personal openion is , by using just only Registry cleaners will not solve your problem
We need to get rid of every supported file.

so suggest you for
1) Uninstall the application
2) Restart
3) Use Regsitry Cleaners
4) After successfull cleanup of regsitry go into registry for manual removal by clicking Start -> Run --> Regedit
5) Now locate HKEY_LOCAL_USER -> Software ->
Here locate the application matches with the name of MS Streets (actually i have not used this, so i am not sure about the exact name, but i am sure that you will locate it)
And DELETE that key
6) Same is for HKEY_Current_User--> Software

7) Now go into System Drive (usually C drive) and locate the programfiles -> MS Streets
(again i have not used this, so i am not sure about the exact name, but i am sure that you will locate it)
And DELETE It.
8) Now restart the system
9) Now we need to use some JUNK FILE CLEANERS for get rid of other supported files
so i suggest you to go with Tune-Up Utilities 2008 version (its trial ware for 30 Day - Fully Functional)
so from that use your JUNK FILE CLEANER
10) After successfull clean up i incist you to execute the Defragmentation process on system drive (usually C drive) so that we can close the backdoor for support files.

11) So after doing all above MAINTANANCE then try to install the application once again
If problem persists.
Please let me know, then I personally get involved with this topic

Thanks

Look on the box to see if Windows Vista supports this software. If so, I would suspect you have a deficiency in the hardware. (i.e. Not a powerful enough video card, not enough memory or not a powerful enough processor)
