    Sharp multifunction AR-M205 is calling for maintenance. This would be ascheduled service and required a PM kit. What is in the PM kit and how do you access service to reset the service alert?

Hi,

It would seem that you simply want to bypass the "Maintenance" display without calling for service. To do so, pls try:

  • For AR-M205 Press "#" - "Interrupt" - "Clear" - "Interrupt". Machine will blank off;
  • Use quantity buttons to make display read "20". Press "Start" button. Machine will flash 00;
  • Use quantity buttons to make display read "01". Press "Start" button. Machine will flash 000;
  • Press "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" - "Clear" and power machine off and back on.
Perform this procedure at you own risk. Incorrect entry of codes can disable machine requiring service call.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

1. unplug the printers power cable it resets ALL printers

2. Once you have it unplug the power cable back in and turn it on make sure it's plugged into the computer.

3. you may need to uninstall and reinstall any software and drivers that came with the printer

System settings on Sharp AR-M205

Found a very good solution...Use Adobe Acrobat to do the scanning. Launch Adobe Acrobat and select the AR-M205 as your scanner and proced from there. Adobe will pull up the Sharpe software to do the actual scanning but Adobe will be in charge and create a pdf file. I am using Adobe 6.0 which is not one of the free versions, I think.
