These screw on the front of the plastic lens adapter and adjust the focal length. On the side of the adapter lenses it will quote the ratio. My wide angle says 0.66x so just multiply the range of focal lengths by this figure and you will see that it adjusts the camera zoom accordingly - making the image wider and probably also increasing the depth of field (what is in focus). Similarly a 1.5 tele will inrease the range of focal lengths to make the lens "longer" eg higher magnification , useful for astro photography - shots of the moon and terrestrial long distance work but detracting from the depth of field, eg the range of distance over which objects are in focus will be reduced.

The wide angle will allow you to come in close and get WIDE objects fully in-frame- hence "wide angle", while the telephoto will give you better overall maginification of the image but will probably increase the MINIMUM focal length - eg you may not be able to focus on objects closer than >2m (instead of ~1).

The screw-on adapter lenses I found were cheap in a Jessops sale use a 52mm thread, while the S5500 provides a 55mm internal thread. I use an appropriate 55mm to 52mm step down ring adapter. There is slight vignetting (shading around the edge of an image) at certain combinations of zoom, but generally these are very useful accessories.

As these are adapter lenses on the front of an already powerful 10x zoom that must be optically compromised at the price of this camera, there maybe some colour fringeing around bright images. If you want a better solution you really need to get a DSLR. Overall a good solution for the price.

I have a Nikon cool pix l320 I have a vivitar telephoto lens on it and when I zoom half way it says to take off the lens cover Plus when I look into the camera it's like looking through a tunnel

Now you know why Nikon telephoto lenses are so expensive and you realise why Vivitar lenses are so cheap. The Vivitar lens is not made for the Nikon, it just fits.

Nikon lenses work as part of the camera itself, not as a screw on accessory.

Some incredible or crazy mixes are always possible. (lens away from the camera, 2 lenses in series, with one in the reverse direction, etc...) Anything can be experimented. Just check the result is o.k.

Need to convert a Vivitar 70-150mm telephoto from Canon TX to Nikon FTn mounts

Vivitar made several different 70-150mm lenses. If the lens has a T-mount then you can purchase a Nikon T-mount adapter and replace the Canon one on the lens. If the lens does not have a T-mount then you're out of luck. Nikon cameras have thicker bodies than Canon cameras, and an adapter would have to have negative physical size.

Can i change the lens of my camera model Fujifilm FinePix HS10

While you may not be able to remove the fixed lens on this camera, you can still add other lenses on top of it, like a telephoto or wide angle lens. An example of lens accessories you may purchase for this model can be found here.

I want to add lens to my fujifilm s5600 to take better pics

There are lenses available to add with an adapter ring. I have the wide angle lens (which I LOVE) and a 2x telephoto lens. The wide angle lens allows me to macro from several feet away. It is an amazing lens. The telephoto lens is something you really need to use with a tripod. But yes, there are lenses you can add to your camera.

Fuji S5500 camera and lens

It seems clear to me (and probobly to you as well) that the solution is to tighten up the lens. regarding the question if you can do it by yourself, i think the answer is probobly no. on one hand, there's a chance it is a very simple problem that only requires tighting a screw, however, i wouldnt risk a 500$ camera for a 30$ repair. my advice will be the local repair shop, if price is too heavy for you, and camera functions fine as it is, you can live with it for a while, just keep in mind it can get worse.
