Be very careful in selecting the correct "Rev." version for your Bios update to your mainboard 'cos there are 3 Mainboards with different Rev, versions ie 1,2,3.

Hope it helps.

Go to the web site of what ever PC you have ( Dell, HP or what ever the PC is ). At the web site you should find section that says drivers and support, or something like that. It will have you select your make and model. You should find the correct drivers there.

Hope this helps.

Microsoft is unable to determine the exact cause of this error. However, this problem was most likely caused by an error in your computer?s random access memory (RAM). RAM is the main internal storage area...

What are you doing when this happens? It sounds like you will have to get a BIOS upgrade weather you like it or not. Visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and obtain the BIOS update from there.

These are the recommended hardware requirements in installing windows XP:
  • PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
  • 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
  • 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*
  • Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
  • CD-ROM or DVD drive
If your laptop pass all this requirements then you can upgrade your windows 98 to windows xp operating System.

Computer restarts randomly with blue screen. How can I fix it?

Find the root of the problem by analysing the previous BSOD crashes. Its probably a hardware related issus (graphics driver or USB).

You need to enable the Memory Dump feature. This can be analysed when the system restarts to find out the root cause.

You downloaded the wrong version. You have 32 bit windows (note the "valid win32 application" part?). You need to download the regular 32 bit version, not the 64bit version. The update file for 32bit windows is file that is 4.9MB in size listed on that web site. Please don't forget to rank my answer, thanks :) Peter
