Toshiba 62MX195 faded flashing screen

Unit is 2.5 yrs old. Lamp replaced at 6 mos old. Now screen has a flashing fog over the video. From what I've heard, it sounds like the light engine.... ~$800 repair estimate. I found and downloaded teh service manual, and found I can get the light engine part for about $450. The service technician I spoke with said it wasn't something an owner could change because it required some adjustment and calibrating. I'm skeptical that this is true... i'm betting you can just carefully replace the light engine, but I'm hesitant to try and find out I still have to pay a technician $250. Is this something a technical person can perform? or does it require specialized calibration equipment?

There are some parts in any television set that can be DIY, In your case, I would suggest to read in the light engine replacement and see if that is something you can do.

Changed 6 lamps y65 none work can they all be bad

Sounds like the circuit that is responsible for sparking and maintaining the voltage to the lamp has gone bad. It's called the Lamp Driver.

Don't waste any more money on lamps. Get a tech to have a look at either repairing or replacing the lamp driver.

I am having issue with my TV it won't turn on and I have a flashing red status light keep flashing can anyone help

Hi, if your tv is between 1-4 yrs old and havent replaced the lamp it might be time to do so.Mitsubishis uses Osram lamps to light up the screen and tend to last from 3000-4000 hrs normally 1-3 yrs.The Red light indicator usually indicates its time to replace the lamp.Heres the lamp you would need http://www.discount-merchant.com/Mitsubhishi-915P027010-915P027A10-Replacement-p/mitsubishi-915p027010-lamp.htm?1=1&CartID=0 On the same link it shows you how to replace it ,have a blessed day.

I have a toshiba 62mx195 with a bad light engine does anybody repair light engines?

Hello
Im having problems with my 62mx195.
The I have a good picture but i have shadows next to or on certain objects. It occurs over the whole screen at different scenes of show. There are blue shadows that pop up intermittently. I have tried hooking up different DVD players to the TV to see if there is a difference, but nothing. It seems minor but it annoying as hell. I hope it is not an Light Engine.

Hlp5063w 50'' projected samsung lamp won't come back on ?

It could be the lamp but don't overlook the lamp door interlock switch. If the lamp door is not aligned properly, you may have intermittent shutdown or no start conditions. You can temporarily cross the interlock switch to confirm that this is the cause.
