Sir, what happened to your PSP prior to this problem occuring? did you accidentally drop it or were you installing something (e.g. newer version of its firmware). If it is the latter prolly it has been bricked and you need a pandora kit to unbrick it (plus of course the universal unbricker w/c you can just download from the Internet). If it is the first then you need to have it checked with a technician to make sure there aren't any broken or damaged internal parts...

When i turn on my psp the green light will come on but the screen won't come on and then a few seconds later the green light will shut off completely.

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached. If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

My PSP is not turning the screen on i turn on the screen

What needs to happen is the psp needs to be taken apart so you can get to the lcd to unseat and reseat the lcd cable.

If that doesn't work then the screen is bad and would need to be replaced.

Here is a tutorial on how to replace the screen but you can also use this to get the psp to the point to unseat and reseat the cable:

How do i reboot my psp?

Have you tried turning on, but then hold the power switch down for around 10-15 seconds or until the power light simply turns off, no flashing. If not, then you should jump on the internet and look for a so-called Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick. They will actually install custom firmware on your PSP which you can remove later on, but if you use those, it should unbrick the PSP, so you can use it again.

PSP problem

Try first to remove the battery for about 1 minute and then put it back in and if still no display on the screen and you hear a sound it only means one thing the screen is bad and better have it check from Sony service center for a possible screen replacement...
