Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
What type of hard drive do you have? Check that it has the proper power cords, and that it's properly detected in the BIOS. Some SATA Hard drives have both, a SATA power and a traditional 4 pin power plug, and you should only use one of them at a time.
Sounds to me like the motherboard has not properly detected this hard drive yet, or it's a RAID volume and windows doesn't have the driver to install it yet.
