Question about Compaq Presario 5000 PC Desktop
Help! My computer speakers were working just fine and then something happened and it now says no audio output devise is installed. When I go to the control panel for sounds it will not let me change nay settings.
You'll want to check your Device Manager to verify that it sees a sound
card installed. This can be done by right clicking the "My Computer"
icon, and selecting manage. Now on the left side, click device manager.
Scroll down on the right side to the sound entries. Verify that none of
the icons have a yellow exclamation mark next to them. If they do, then
windows is having trouble finding drivers or possibly having troubles
with another card conflicting with it. If this is the case, then you
can go to hp.com (I know you have a compaq, but HP is compaq now), and
click search for drivers. Input your computer model number, and locate
the audio drivers. Then just reinstall them.
Let me know if I can clarify this any more,
