Saving game without running out of hearts

Can you tell me how to save my status in Link's Awakening without having to run out of hearts? I thought it was by pressing start and select together but that doesn't seem to work and I lost the instructions!

Yay! Yes, you were spot on (found I needed to press A+B first then start+select whilst holding A+B down).

    Brilliant.

    Ta muchly.

Sorry to disappoint, but there is no way to "Save & Quit" without losing all but 3(?) hearts. If you save and continue you will have them until you load the save data again (which would be when you turned the system off). I haven't played Link's awakening in a long time, but I think there should a good source of hearts near the locations you restart at. Or you could spend a few rupees and keep a Healing potion on you.

I have a saved game of Pokemon Crystal on Playr.org but when I go to load it, a screen comes up saying "This Game Pak is only designed for use on the Gameboy Color"

Hello, I've had the same problem and been able to go around it somehow. Before I load my save, there is a second or two of in-game screen, then It shows "nintendo" and then "the game pak is only designed for gameboy color". During those seconds, QUICKLY click Save Game and do it multiple times. Some save files will still be with the odd message, while other will run perfectly. I suggest you save your game multiple times and very often, then you can test If then are running correctly, and delete the corrupted ones, or load an old one. Good Luck

To save the game without dying, press A + B + Start + Select. It will give you the choice to return to game or to save and quit.

My copy of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has no background or text showing. only characters can be seen. Help?

Since it is an old GBC game, I would have to say it got damaged. There might also be some dust in the cartridge causing issues or something around those means. Maybe even the battery died, however i dont believe that is the case because that would just prevent you from saving

Legend of Zelda Links Awakening keeps freezing after start screen

It is because of the internal battery or the use of too many gameshark codes.

My copy of Links Awakening is messed up bad. The

You cannot fix it if you used to many gameshark cheats on it or if it is the internal battery.

Gold won't save

The Silver/Gold/Crystal generation Pokemon Games all had cartridges that contained a built-in battery that runs theinternal clock, so that your game knows whether its day or night,Monday or Wednesday, etc. Anyway, I assume your battery has run out,and until replaced, the game will not save successfully.

This site give instructions on how to replace the battery: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/

Or you could just buy the game again, I would guess they are about $10 these days.
Great game by the way.

Hope that helps.
