Can you tell me how to save my status in Link's Awakening without having to run out of hearts? I thought it was by pressing start and select together but that doesn't seem to work and I lost the instructions!
Sorry to disappoint, but there is no way to "Save & Quit" without losing all but 3(?) hearts. If you save and continue you will have them until you load the save data again (which would be when you turned the system off). I haven't played Link's awakening in a long time, but I think there should a good source of hearts near the locations you restart at. Or you could spend a few rupees and keep a Healing potion on you.

If you are having problems using the mail shortcut ( envelope ) on the Contact List clear out your browser Download 'ccleaner' and use it daily. Run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors.Never make changes to your Registry without saving the information. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ I have my status set to 'OFFLINE' Mail so I can have both programs open at the same time without being signed out of chat by Yahoo.
Since it is an old GBC game, I would have to say it got damaged. There might also be some dust in the cartridge causing issues or something around those means. Maybe even the battery died, however i dont believe that is the case because that would just prevent you from saving
One of the biggest problems is that you are running it on Vista. The Sims Complete Collection was not developed with Vista in mind so there will be compatibility issues. One thing that you can try to fix this is right click it and click run as administrator. The reason why i say to do this is because one of the big things that vista tried to stop was viruses destroying your operating system by editing files without permission. By running as administrator, you override these rules. Programs cannot start themselves as administrator. This should clear any problems right up.
you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.
The game should, of course, overwrite existing saves without problem (even if second hand)
You are not prompted to save when you quit (since there really isn't a quit or even a return to menu)
While the game does have a few set save points, the best way to save (which can be done at any time) is to use the Save option in the trunk (some players forget about this)
If you save into a save slot doing this and it's not there when you next restart the game, then something is wrong
It should also be noted that some (if not many) of the "second hand" copies purchased on eBay are actually pirated copies that have caused problems for players (including stopping with blacked out screens during the game)
If you are confident that saving just isn't working and you're unable to return the game for replacement or refund, one drastic course of action may be to corrupt the save (by quickly turning off the DS while it saves), thus causing the game to say the save is corrupted and make a new save file ... naturally, this should only be done as a last resort
I know exactly what the problem is with this, this will be a FixYa rating lol...anyways the reason is because maybe your PS2 was turned off while saving one time. When you save it says do not unhook the memory card or reset or turn off the console. You must have or someone else did. What you need to do is delete all the old stuff and you have to save the games all over again and recatchup your progress in the games. It's like a computer being turned off while saving, but the PS2 will not recover so sorry.
