Which channel?

If you are trying to get to an input channel try looking through the menu or try other buttons on the remote.

Maybe the remote got dropped by the cleaners. If you could control volume with the remote previously and now can't, I suspect the remote needs to be replaced.

If the remote sensor inside the tv stops working...is there something i can get....a box or something to change channels with another device..some tv cable can go thru before to tv so if tv is on a certain...

Check your remote control for its proper working first. Then think of the remote sensor inside your TV. To get more details about how to check remote control, click this link.
If remote control is Ok, replace the infrared sensor, which can be located just behind the infrared sensor window of your Tv. You have to open your TV, and desolder it out and solder a new one in position. The infrared sensor will look like these. There are sevieral types, and just confirm which type is used in your TV. Picures of some types are attached.

I have a 32 in insignia and a universal remote was used to try and turn channel..it turned the channel once and now its frozen on that channel even the tv remote wont work and the manual buttons on the tv...

Turn your TV off and unplug it for several minutes. Remove the batteries from any remote controls that you use for the TV, press all of their buttons, and install fresh batteries. Reset the TV to factory defaults. The universal remote control should not have caused any damage to the TV. If the problem persists, we recommend that you seek service by calling 1-888-237-8289 in the U.S or 1-866-237-8289 in Canada.

Cant change channels?

What is your antenna source? Cable or antenna? Try keying in a certain channel on your remote. see if you get that channel. Tv will not auto program if you do not have channel source coming in to antenna input.

My remote control for my polaroid tv wont change channels up and down.the channel button isnt working for the tv.everything else is working.

You may be able to program your cable box remote to control your TV in addition to your cable box. When they initially set up your cable box they probably left a pamphlet giving you instructions on how to program your remote. I'm not sure why you can't change the TV channels manually but this may give you a work-around.

I had a controller working with a certain t.v. and want to program it on a new samsung tv i just got, instead of using the old tv

You can try finding the code by doing a power scan as follows to see if one not associated with your tv will work: With the TV on press and hold the TV button on the top left of the remote until all buttons light up across the top. Now preess the small red tv button-the topTV button on the left of the remote should stay lit. Now press the channel up button slowly until the tv shuts off. If it does press the channel down button and then the channel up button. The tv should now turn on. If it has press the pound sign and release. The tv button will flash three times. Now try powering the tv on and off. You should be sucessful. Remember to put the remote back into SATmode. Thanks for using Fix Ya. Let me know if you need further assistance.
