Since I started getting Netzero Hispeed 3G, my service has been slower than when I had basic.What is the problem?

Getting an accurate speed reading from your ISP is a good first step to diagnosing the problem

This can be done in a veriety of ways

You can use the "ping" or "trace route" program that comes with your Operating system.

or a Visual traceroute program like this one

You might find a free one or at least a demo , you can use it to see if there is a serious delay at some point between you and the destination.

A list of ways to speed up my computer

1. Add more RAM.
2. Defragment the disk-drive.
3. Buy a faster-spinning disk-drive (7200 RPM versus 5400 RPM).

Downloads get to 99% complete and then hang up. Just keeps going.


Try to open task manager and stop the some other process..

Wait for five hours and then see or else u want to restart the system..

So i just need a bit more information to try to help. With troubles like these though there are so many variables but maybe we will get lucky with trying the basics.

Can you tell me:

When you close Powerpoint does the entire PC freeze up? or just that program and you can continue using the PC?

Does it ever happen when you save the document?

How old is your pc?

When was the last time it was formatted?

Does your PC seem slower than normal?

Can't get software that I purchased at Meijer installed. For some reason Net Zero Voice system comes up which I don't want or need!

can you disable first netzero voice system or uninstall it? if you still have installation cd of netzero, back up first before doing, after that try installation again of meijier software.

Ok. You want to setup a new Dial up connection.

First, you need to call a service provider and sign up for service with them. Here are a few companies.
  • AT&T Dial - 1-800-524-8500
  • Netzero - 1-888-349-0029 or online
  • People PC - 1-877-947-3327 offer code WEB6
Netzero provides 10 hours free per month with ads.

Personaly, I've had People PC and their customer service is great. On the contrary, I've had Netzero and their wait is at least 2 minutes for a representative. AT&T has also a good customer service.
The service provider you choose is up to you. All of these companies offer speeds of 56Kbps, which is the fastest you can get with dial up. People PC and Netzero offer "internet accelerators".

After choosing, they will send you a CD or you can download their software online.

At&T does not have their software online.
You already have an internal modem so just install the program and thats it.

Purchased a new e machine model W3644 and tried to connect with Outlook Express, which have always used and wish to continue using. Now. I see the manual says to log onto AOL to send e mails-not going to...

go to add and remove programs in control panel click on aol and remove make sure to unchoose to save any files or settings from aol do this for all versions of aol in your files. you need an active internet connection to use outlook express netzero is free for about 10 hours a month be careful they charge for going over but they also have packages starting at about 9.95 a month for unlimited hours
