Question about Brinkmann 810-2300-B Grill

Great Outdoors smoker/grill

It was working fine until about a month ago. When I changed tanks the flame would only burn as though it were set at low even on high. I have had it 2 years and use it year round. I read a post about a similar problem and they mentioned changing the regulator on the grill. Do you think this is the problem? Is this a do it yourself type project?

Try resetting the regulator by disconnecting the regulator from the tank and let it sit for approximately 3 minutes then reconnect it make sure all burners are turned off before openng the propane tank valve or the regulator will go in to a safe mode again.Worked for me.

First, check the hose fittings for tightness / leaks. If you still have same problem, the following is most likely your quick fix.

If your regulator is / was good, then you would most likely have a leak in a line or fitting - and the regulator has properly restricted or stopped gas flow as it's designed to do for obvious safety.

However a very common leak is the main plastic tank coupling which renders the whole regulator and hose assembly useless.

Quick fix, go to Wal-Mart and buy a $20 replacement regulator which comes pre-fitted with hoses and couplings. Get the dual or single hose depending on whether you have a side-burner or not.

Voila! You're good to go a few more years.

I just purchased a brand new tank of propane and i still have the same problem that the propane burns out of all 4 burners but at a really low flame even on high. I can not get the grill to heat up...

Turn the tank off. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the LP tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY until it's fully open. Now, light each burner one at a time and turn it up to the highest setting. If that didn't solve the problem, repeat the previously listed steps.

If after the second attempt the burners still only maintain a low flame, you will need to replace the grill hose/regulator.

Hope this solved your problem and Happy Grilling!

If you're turning off your propane tank after each use (which is fine), you will need to turn it back on very, very slowly. The new OPD valves that are now required on all portable propane tanks, will lock up the regulator if it's turned on to fast. Also, check all the pilot orifices for clogs. And finally, be sure you have enough gas in the tank.

It sounds like you are getting too much gas and not enough air. There should be an on the gas tube to the burner that slides open to adjust the air/gas mixture. Open this at small amounts unitl the burner burns cleaner (blue, yellow and white)

Propane grill won t get hot in cold weather

FYI - We had same (simular) problems with low flame on this grill. What it turned out to be, was a vabor lock.
The way to fix this is to
1) turn off alll burners
2) turn off the tank
3) take the supply line off of the tank
4) was for 1 minute
hook it back up - and everything will work fine

This is caused by changing tanks with the burnes turned on.

Good Luck

Flame is low

try opening the tanks slower so the overfill protection device in the tank won't kick in and restrict the gas flow.

I had the same problem with mine. I took the burner assembly at the knob apart and cleaned it and that worked for me. The grease from the meat dripped down on the gas orifice and hardened reduced the amount of gas being jetted to the burner. Hope this helps

Veranda gas grill - won't light or low flame

One of the major problems with propane gas grills, including the Masterbuilt Veranda, is the pressure regulator. They get to where they do not release enough propane. Some, most, have an adjustment screw that will let you correct these problems. I think I replaced my Veranda regulator with another older pressure regulator from an old grill. Makes you crazy if you don't know this.
