Paper Jam Help Please

Every time I try to print something, it works but as one paper is being fed in, the next paper also catches in for some reason, so the second paper gets jammed half way in. I do not know how to fix this and it keeps happening and is frustrating me. Can someone please help me before I break this thing.

Thank You

It is very similar, but its got nothing to do with the atmospheric conditions... in this case when I send a document to print, it starts taking papers one after another one, like four in a row, and normaly it stops in the third one or fourth one and no paper is printed and then pc and printer show a jammed paper... sometimes, there's not even paper in the rollers and paper comes out fine but no printing, it only prints whenever it wants to... like every ten paper jams.. I checked everything even reinstall the drivers and checked size and type of the paper properties and nothing... this sucks, it is the very first time this has happen to my trusty printer, I have to admit it, it is a damm good printer 'till now.. I have even reset it.. theres this hidden reset button beside the "usb" cable.. so if anyone knows how to fix this or what I'm doing wrong, please tell me... And something else, the paper tray stays up when the "printing" is finished, but it goes up and down for paper feeding... this sucks...

If your location is too humid, paper can stick together. If it's too dry, static electricity can also hold paper together.

Incorrect paper thickness / weight can also cause this.

It's a good idea to 'fan' the paper before inserting it, and make sure the paper thickness/weight & room humidity levels agree with those in the specs at the back of the printer manual.

Sounds like 1 of 2 things. 1, you are using the wrong kind of paper for that printer. If it's got too much gloss on it the rollers may not be able to catch it.
2, and the more likely solution, is you just need to replace the rollers and run a maintenance on that printer. If you've never done this then it's probably time.
Here is an example maintenance kit which includes rollers and even a new fuser. http://printertechs.com/maintkits/lj2200kit.php
If this solution helps, please give a positive rating. Thank you.

Have you tried cleaning the paper feed roller(s)? Either soap & water OR isopropyl alchohol with a cotton ball will do, just make sure the rollers are dry before trying to print again, otherwise damage to imaging unit (drum/toner unit) could occurr. If the printer doesn't feed in the first place, the printer thinks it has a jammed paper, thus opening paper tray and front cover resets misfeed/ jam condition. Let me know your progress....Tim

Miss feeds when print multilpe pages

The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

Hi :) I'm trying to print on my Canon PIxma- mp480 to no avail

Hello
This can be due to a feeder wrong setting on the printer or on your PC: your printer tries to take paper from the back feeder, whereas your paper is on the front feeder....
try to check these settings in your PC and on your printer, and retry to print, hoping this helps

Paper fed error

check the paper jam clear cover at the back site of printer:

When taking it out you can see the wave formed clear plastic which is on top of the cover.
try to stroke with your finger alongside. this can be the reason for the paper jamming.

Paper Jam

Remove all the paper from the paper tray so that nothing gets sucked up in there while you're working. Hit the cancel button a few times until the screen clears itself and goes back to the "Print", "Copy", "Scan" option screen.

On your computer, if the printer option screen is up (depending on what kind of computer you have, a small screen might pop up to tell you the print progress), hit cancel or clear on any of the lines that say "Paper jam", if there are any.

The next time you print something, only put as many pieces of paper in the feed as you need to print. This should eliminate a lot of the chance of actually getting a paper jam.

Please respond again if this didn't help. I'm not sitting in front of my own computer right now, so I might not be following the same steps that I usually take.

Help please. can't print: paper light flashing even though there is paper in printer

To fix the NON EXISTANT paper jam:

Status light is on, paper light is on - you can hear the paper feed trying to "grab" the paper, but it can't,  and status light goes Red.

Take out paper tray

Reset the blue paper holders, move them tight against the paper so the paper is snug against all blue barriers. Cause: Somehow the blue paper holders got dislodged and the paper is not snug so the feeder is trying to grab paper that  is slightly out of reach.
