HARD DISK ONLY SEES 1.99GB'

Can anyone help my 5GB PCMCIA HARD DISK will only see 1.99GB on my laptop running WIN XP Ihave tried to right click and then click Format but it only shows 1.99GB as an option. Thanks

ApprenticeUmmm can you try formatting from the DOS Prompt ?
Find out the drive letter from File Explorer. Goto DOS prompt and type in the following. Note this will erase all data
format ::drive letter::
If you choose the wrong drive letter it will erase all contents, so please double check before doing it this way.
