Looks like you are infected with the brontok virus. It also disables registry editor and task manager. You can check. And if this is the case, You can download the brontok removal tool from here.

Tip

Remove wga notifications

Try it.Its 100% solution because its tested by me .

First - click Start then Run and type “regedit” without quotes and press Enter
Go to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify. In this location delete the folder “WgaLogon” and all content with name WgaLogon
Restart your computer. After restart WGA will not be active and you can remove it completely following the next steps:
Set your folders options to show hidden and protected Windows files – go to My Computer/Tools/Folder Options and then choose View. From the View tab choose “Show hidden files and folders” and uncheck “Hide protected operating system files” and click OK
Now, Go to folder Windows\System32\dllcache, find and delete “WgaTray.exe”.
Restart your computer again and live happy and free.

How to check whether a virus has effected a PC

Most common type of virus disable the windows capability to show hidden files. To check whether the computer does not have virus , goto My Computer > Tools (Tab) > Folder Options > View >

Select "Show Hidden Files and Folders"

Click apply and ok

Again repeat the same procedure and check whether the selected "Show hidden files and folders" is still active or its been return to the "Don't show hidden files and folders".

If its still active then it means virus has not effected the system of at least you could delete the hidden virus files.

If it automatically return to the "Don't show...", virus has effected you system. Then go for a good anti-virus software.

Unable to activate show hidden folders

You are right that this is because of a virus attack. The virus has changed somethign in the registry. Follow the below methods:
Method 1:Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.
Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.
Method 2:1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!
