Re: Sony Ericsson K800i says insert sim and only allows...
Your sim card might be loose in it's place. Or you may need to "open line" your phone.
Better solution? Purchase a new sim,not a vodafone sim. For you to know what the problem is.
A rate from you for this solution according to the benefits obtained will be much appreciated. tnx! Further questions? don't hesitate to post......good day!

If your Sony Ericsson K800i Mobile Phone says "Emergency calls only" then it is probably locked with network. Don't worry you can it easily by using an unlock code.To get this code at low cost visit the site ClassicUnlocking.com with easy step by step unlocking instructions and unlock it.After unlocking it,you can use freely any GSM network SIM card. This is the safe, fast and permanent unlocking method.
Have you tried different sim to see if its sim or phone related? Try your sim in different phone, is it ok? Where did your K800i come from, have you just got it? Could be restricted from networks if it was a reported lost or stolen phone? (would show as emergency calls only, or unregistered sim). Check with your network provider who have access to imei data base and can tell you if its a barred handset.
Also check if phone is in flight mode as then it would not find any network? Normally allows you to select when turned off and on again.
Does it pick up any networks? If you go into settings, then networks, does it find any when you do a manual scan of networks available?
Last explanation could be faulty handset? ;( = ££££££'s
