Water behind screen

My 3yr old poured water in the corners of the screen. Water is trapped behind the two screens. How do I get the screen off to dry? Having trouble getting the speaker board off- tech said something about screws being behind this board. Thanks- Michele

How do I get to and clean screen of a Hitachi 60fx20b

honestly you will probably cause more issues than you will solve. If you separate the layers it will allow dust to get in and that will show up worse than water. If you are sure you can do it, then the front needs to come off. but be really careful.

Have a dark blotch on bottom right of screen. What is this? Transported in the rain and fear water got through carefully wrapped plastic. Help

It's possible the mirror has dome dust on it from jostling during the move. W dried water spot will do it too. The front screen will come off by removing the screws on the bezel. Be extremely careful cleaning the mirror.Any scratch by a cleaning cloth (never use paper) will permanently ruin it.

Hi Kevin this type of problem needs to be serviced. What you see is liquid trap in the LCD screen that might damage other parts of the LCD if you wont fix it. If its under warranty call the Mitsubishi support.

I have a large screen Mitsubishi TV and water spilled down the front this morning. I wiped it up but tonight learned it must have held water at the bottom lip that has wicked up behind the screen. How can...

Usally the screen is 3 layers if it was just water it should evap, without residue. You can remove the screen, but the inner surfaces are fragile to the touch.A big concern for contamination between the layers durning handling. You can clean each surface with a class cleaner and soft cloth. Use canned air from a distace to dust layers before re-assy. The distance is to avoid propellant from contaminating screen surface. Suggest this be left to a professional.

Black blotch on bottom of screen

if you can take the screen out , then use some dish soap, rag and water to clean the black blotch

if that don't work you may need to use something a little stronger , but not enough to hurt the screen
please rate a fixya and I'll be happy to assist you in the cleaning process and care of the screen

MARKS ON SCREEN

there are two screens..the lenticular..and the fresnal...you can try to pull them apart(very fragile!) and clean them but you must be careful not leave any water or moister between them(blowdry or wipe completely dry after cleaning with damp cloth) do not rub too hard...just spray warm water on the rag and carefully wipe clean ...then dry. Putting the screens back together isn't too tricky but let me stress..these screens cannot be bent or they will break...pull them off with two people(one on each side)..also you will have to take the front cover off because the screens are literally clamped down to the front cover.....good luck...let me know if you need futher assistance..........mike

Water behind screen

Did you just sell your TV? Because if you did, I'm probably the one who just bought it. Paid $200. Anyways, if not, I did fix it. I dismantled the TV, starting with the bottom. Pull off the speaker cover then unscrew everything on the bottom in order to loosen the top screen portion. Unscrew the top screen and pull it off slowly, disconnecting the one wire that connects it to the rest of the TV. Once the screen is off, you can seperate from the frame it by unscrewing it. I then cleaned both screens (there are two layers) with distilled water and a microfiber cloth. You might be able to use other cleaning methods but I recommend plenty of water and then a non abrasive cloth. Make sure it's clean and dry before putting it back up. Picture is like new and I love it!

Water stain on the front of our Akai PT5499 Projection TV

Hmm... should evaporate on its own. The only way to access behind the screen is to take the whole back off the TV, and then inside theres another panel that covers the main reflector and screen. I wouldnt recommend doing that just for water tho.
