Platen open error message on tally t6218 line printer

Am a servicing personel of one of the leading banks in nigeria in fact we are one of the highest consumers of tally both dot matrix and line printers, it all happens about some years back when one of our high volume printing printers [ie] tally t 6218 developed a board problem which was eventually bought some weeks back i fixed this to now notice this particular error i tried the net but to no avail until i came to your site please could u help me out buy putting me through your gesture would be highly appreciated thanks in advance sir.

There are two reason behind the problem . 1 .the problem may come from the logic board.
2.and the platen sensor. change the platen sensor. if not solved change the board.

You will need to calibrate the paper and platen.To do that,you will need to enter technical access and disable disable four fault error by pressing LF and enter button simultaneously until tech access appear on control panel display,then press tof + enter to override four fault.Now you can clear the fault message.,then go to calibration procedures.

I have a tally genicom 6312 printer which gives me hammer voltage 2 error what do i do


A high resistance coil fault has likely occurred in one or more of the hammer coils.
Note: this fault message will have been preceded by printing slow-down attempts associated with On-
The-Fly thermal monitoring of hammer bank temperature.
Check the hammer bank for defective coils.
If no defective coils are found replace the Controller Board.

Skip Ribbon Weld
Explanation: This is an advisory message. The message appears when
the welded part of the ribbon is moving across the Hammer Bank.

Corrective Action: None. Wait for the ribbon to finish moving, and the message will disappear.

In the T6215 Maintenance Manual the fault message: Hammer Voltage has been replaced, in the T6218, with:

Hammer Voltage 1
There is a new fault message for the T6218. It is:

Hammer Voltage 2
Explanation: A high resistance coil fault has likely occurred in one or more of the hammer coils
Note: This fault message will have been preceded by printing slow-down attempts associated with On-The-Fly thermal monitoring of hammer bank temperature.

Corrective Action:
Check the hammer bank for defective hammer coils.
Confirm that hammer drive board is functioning properly.

Hammer Voltage 2 is the worst error you can get on the Tally T6200 series...

Explanation:

bank temperature. Check blower underneath ribbon Deck.

Corrective Action:
Check the hammer bank for defective hammer coils qty 7 per hammerbank.
Confirm that hammer drive board is functioning properly.

How do I clear a "config 1" error on my tally t6218 printer


Click start>run>type services.msc. The services window will come up and you can right-click on the Print Spooler and then click Restart. This will clear the print queue and hopefully allow you to print. Good Luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

may shuttle belt is lose or it is not in proper place. check the shuttle belt and clean the shuttel sensor , your problem will be solve.

May be platen gap is high check the platen gap. If the platen gap is not proper adjust it manualy.
