Question about RCA HD52W59 HDTV Projection Television
Everytime I try and turn my television on it powers right back off, the green light comes on then goes off, why is this happening and what can I do to fix it; thank you
Hello aeasterling and Guest,
This might be caused by a short circuit in one of the components in the LV or HV power supply. I would first do a visual inspection to see if I see and damaged components (burnt transistors or resistors, puffy or blown up capacitors, and burnt transformers). If there are no visual signs of trouble, I would then begin troubleshooting the TV with a schematic and a multimeter (on the resistance setting) "REMEMBER HAVE THE SET UNPLUGGED" for these tests What I would be looking for are shorted or open components (mainly the power transistors and or FETs, transformers, capacitors and inductors). Then with the power on and the multimeter set to voltage measurements, I would perform tests to see if the proper voltage levels were present at the proper test points.
However if you do not have a background in Electronics I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop.
I hope this Helps,
