My slim studio desktop PC does not turn on.. i have checked all the power inlets to the system..What could be the problem and how to fix this?

The power supply (PSU) or the motherboard has failed.
Replace PSU first to check.

Check all the cables at the back, if your computer is connected to a power bar unplug it then connect it it directly to your wall outlet then check if the computer will turn on if still not turning on it could be a problem with the power supply or the mobo

try a new switch or jumb the two wires to see if the switch is bad with some jumber wire if its the switch then replace

Check your surge protector, it may have tripped due to a surge in power.

If you didn't have it on a surge protector you could have blown a capacitor in the power supply. In that case replacing those is pretty simple just 4 screws and paying attention to what and where you disconnect from the mother board

First place to look is the power supply in the tower---most likely if just before it failed you had to turn it on a few times to get it on---bad filter caps in the supply.

The supply usually can be removed and most shops will test it for little or nothing.

If you are able to get at it and get it out look for bad filter caps like these:



good on left and bad on right



Arrows point to really bad caps--tops have to be perfectly flat.

generally a no post, since the system will not stay on, you simplify the system configuration by removing all external connections except power, then see if the system will stay on. If it does, add items back one at a time till you ID the issue.
If no change with external items disconnected, then issue is internal. remove any expansion cards and try again, if issue resolved, the add one at a time to isolate fault. If still no go, try ram modules individually. if still no go, disconnect power to all drives, see if system will stay running with drives disconnected. if still no go, then it is either the power supply or the motherboard. replace the power supply 1st since it is cheapest to replace
