These pictures look exactly like what my phillips 4650 projector is doing. if you are looking at the word phillips on the screen it would look like "ppphhhiiillliiipppsss" like a holagram or 3d image. look at the picture posted on your site under brodycrouch. Thanks Jeff

Since it was left on for 2 days straight it probably over heated and blew something inside have you tries aligning it though the menu on the remote some don't have this function if they dont and this happeins there is a fault in the unit and is not a home remedy to fix this you will have to contact phillips or a service center for this one

Why does my projector display a double image?

You may have turned on a 3D (side by side) mode.

Have a look at your remote, press the 3D button (you may have to press it several times) to cycle through the virtual 3D modes.

Once you see "3D off", the double image should go away.

If you want to use 3D again, simply cycle through the modes to go back to where you want to be.

The image is made up of three polarisers, one tends to fail causing a problem with the image. On average it may cost £300 per polariser to be fixed. As you know these days you can get a projector for that price as everyone now wants HD and 3D. I recently bought 7x NEC NP115 for just over £200 each. Very good spec, auto power up (Which was important for what I needed)

hope that helps

You have several choices,
[1] issue students with 3D glasses, and explain that the unit has been upgraded to 3D
[2] Is the 3D effect for one colour only or all three primary colours?
[3] pull it apart and check if the optical components are all intact.

chances are that a mirror is misaligned and a simple adjustment may fix it.

[4] tell us what model number it is

[5] failing all that, keep it as a spare for when the other units die and need costly parts for their repair.

Ghost image in different color from main image - text appears "doubled"

Use the remote to access the menu and you'll be able to POSITION the colors horizontally and vertically .
You should be able to align with the other colors to make it sync'd.
