I ran into the same issue with a H4150. Pull the main battery and let it sit without the battery for a while; a few seconds is not long enough. I let it sit for about two minutes and that was long enough on each of the four times I needed to recover from a failed ROM upgrade last night. This reset the H4150 and it then initialized like it was just out of the box; all data and settings were reset to original. Some troubleshooting procedures indicate you should not use a USB hub for this process. That did not work for me-the ROM upgrade still breaks the connection just after getting started. But at least pulling the battery got the iPAQ back to a useable condition. My next test will be to try it from an old PC with Windows 98 and USB 1.1 or 1.0. Maybe the brief disconnection is normal and a fast PC with a modern OS may not be as forgiving to brief upsets. Just as the ROM update really begins (after all the handshaking), the iPAQ briefly drops the connection and that's when the update fails, it just takes a little longer for the software to say 'hey-I've lost communication with the iPAQ...'

HP iPAQ 210 calendar and contacts won't open


Somehow, the file that stores all of your contact and calendar data got corrupted, and the Calendar program crashed when opening. To fix the problem, rename the pim.vol file on the system root (it's a hidden file; I use Total Commander for file browsing on my device, which shows hidden files by default) to something like pim.vol.bak. You should now be able to open your Calendar, Contact, and ActiveSync again.

I don't know if you are still around and checking this, but it came up at the top of a google search, so hopefully, anyone else who finds this problem will be able to see the solution without having to hard reset their device.

Resetting the iPAQ

Ifyour iPAQ H3000 responds slowly, stops responding as expected, or“freezes,” try resetting it. A reset causes the iPAQ H3000 to restartand re-adjust memory allocation. Unsaved data in open windows may belost. Use the stylus to press and hold the Reset button for about twoseconds.

NOTE:Do not turn off your iPAQ as it must remain on in order to reset.

Clearing memory

Ifyou want to clear all data from your iPAQ H3000 and return it to thefactory settings, you should clear the memory.
Clearingmemory deletes all data and restores the iPAQ H3000 to its defaultsettings. Programs installed at the factory remain, while data you havecreated and programs you have installed are erased.

1.Using the stylus, slide open the On/Off door on the base of the iPAQH3000.

2.Slide the On /Off switch to the Off position using the stylus. Waitabout one minute, then slide the switch to the On position.

:Use CF Backup/Restore or ActiveSync to keep a backup of your iPAQ dataso that if you need to clear memory, you can restore the data on youriPAQ.

I get an error on my IPAQ 210 Support Code: 0x86000107 -- it does not synch eveything with my PC


If you want to fix it properly, please follow these steps:
1: unplug usb cable if you are still connecting it with your WINDOWS MOBILE
2: Open MS Outlook (I m using 2007 as an example), go to File- > New -> Outlook Data File , and create a new PST file (what ever name/ location)
3: In outlook, Tools ->Account settings, then click Data Files tab, click the new PST file that you had just created, and set as default , then restart outlook
4: delete activesync partnership in both Windows Mobile and in your Desktop
5: Plug the WM to the USB port, and it should sync properly again.
6: restore the backup by using MS Outlook's Import and export function

IPAQ file store problem


You're not alone! Virtually every ipaq rx3715 gets this problem at one time or another. Unfortunately, it is a massive memory issue. Be prepared to potentially lose all of your data, including programs. My suggestion would be to back up your ipaq before you do this. I do not know if the backup retains the memory error, but what I would do is back it up, perform the fix, and then restore the data back onto the ipaq. If your file store problem is fixed, there you go! If the problem comes back upon restoring the pocket pc, then unfortunately you will lose all data and programs in order to fix the memory, and that will be a personal choice. For most of us, the ipaq simply freezes up upon entry into the file store, so consider yourself lucky that they simply do not delete.

Here is the step-by-step process of how to fix your problem.

1. Download GER and ENG ROMs (latest) from HP's support site
2. Unpack both
3. Cancel the automatic flash procedure.
4. Locate the EnterBootLoader.exe file in the folder of the unpacked GER update
5. Copy it to PPC
6. Run it from the PPC
7. Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file from the desktop to start flash procedure.
Then you have a German-language PPC
8. Locate the EnterBootLoader.exe file in the folder of the unpacked ENG update
9. Repeat steps 5-7 for the English update
You're done

Sounds like your PC is not set to adjust for daylight savings.... the ipaq automatically adjusts for daylight savings but the PC does not. On your PC double click on clock, click on Time Zone tab and then on that screen you will see the box that needs to be checked. also check that both PC and IPAQ are set to same time-zones.

Try this, take the ipaq off the cradle, turn the ipaq off (if you can), restart the desktop, put the ipaq back in thc cradle, turn the ipaq on, and restart ROM update again.
