HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook Quick Play

New laptop, less than 1 week old. Working great until installation of version 3.7 of QuickPlay, the TV tuner did not work. I uninstalled the new version, after manually terminating Recovery, the old version 3.6 of QuickPlay appears to be installed. When run, however, the ExpressCard Hybrid TV Tuner is not found by QuickPlay or available. I then reinstalled the TV Tuner software, which seemed to go properly. Another attempt to use quickPlay to access the TV Tuner failed. The QuickPlay screen would open but the TV Tuner was not available. Beginning to feel HP was a mistake. Can You help

HP Express Card Digital / Analog not working

First thing I tried to do was to install the drivers that came into the CD didn't work, just using mydvd9 the import/aqcuire option I could have some noise signal, but couldn't find a way to select channels and hanged after a while. This is too trickier, I thought, it should be a way to used quickplay and other applications.

I couldn't get anything from HP site so investigating I found the following.

1) Had to upgrade quickplay to latest version (is pretty cool btw)
2) The card internally is a Hauppage and found that is actually the HVR1500 http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr1500.html.
Drivers + application can be downloaded at http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr1250.html

3) After upgrading quickplay and installing drivers and application from hauppage, Quick play had additionally an hp digital tv tuner entry, but here in canada there is no digital signal transmitted through antenna.
4) I have reinstalled manually the drivers that came in the CD, but from the c:\swsetup\HP Digital tv tuner folder
5) After this I had at quickplay a second source "Hp Analog Tv tuner" which allowed me to caputure the regular air signal and wintv worked as well

I'm sure that I did some redundant steps, but it worked and now can I have everything working (quickplay, wintv, digital, analog signals)

Hope this helps and btw I haev uploaded the manuals for thouse who can't get it, since HP doesn't have them in the website.

Cheers

Go to Control Panel and open 'Add/Remove Programs' or 'Programs and Features' depending on the OS you have. Remove HP Quick Launch Buttons. Restart your PC. Go to C:\SWSETUP and install the HP Quick Launch Buttons software. If the installation prompts for a restart, do it and then try using the buttons.
If you still have problems, report back.

Hp laptop touchpad for cd and wireless conet. stopped working

I get it. The multimedia keys above the keyboard is not working. If I'm right, check if you have installed the HP Quick Launch buttons software. If not check in C:/SwSetup and you'll find a folder. Install the application and check if the buttons are working. If not, post back

Can't run a quick play

Quick play is a funny animal, first go to add and remove programs.
Remove quickplay. Reboot unit.
Next, google quickplay 3.7 and download the program.
Next open the quickplay program and allow it to my a new folder.
After quickplay has finished you will have a updated quickplay 3.7 or better and should run with no problems.
Hope this has helped you.

Hi,

This is a security feature of the High Definition Content that it does not allow veiwing of any high def content on dual displays.

There is a very simple fix to it...
Go to Nvidia control panel..
Select setup multiple displays..
Choose the option Single display ( one display at a time ).

Thats it.. This should enable you to play the blue ray dvds on the external display.

Laptop will not play dvd 'KNIGHT RIDER' original

This is a common issue with Vista where few of the applications which may not work even if they are compatible with Vista.

I recommend you to try downloading and installing Service Pack 1 for Vista if you are using a Genuine or preinstalled version of Vista from the link below :

http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/a/9/3a9b72c2-527d-4694-8a49-84c056d4c34d/Windows6.0-KB936330-X86-wave0.exe

The issue should be fixed if the issue is with the Operating System because of which few applications are not operating correctly.

Additionally, I recommend you to try other applications like KLM Codec pack or VLC Media Player which use less RAM and Processing power when compared to Quick Play and Windows Media Player and I use them myself in my PC.

These applications are also capable of playing more video and audio formats which Quick Play and Windows Media Player cannot play.

Download K Lite Mega Codec Pack (KLM) which includes Media Player Classic to play most of the audio and video files from the link below :

http://files.3dnews.ru/pub/soft/multimedia/codec/klmcodec417.exe

You can download the VLC Media Player for yor Notebook from the link below :

http://www.videolan.org/mirror.html?mirror=http://mirror.services.wisc.edu/mirrors/videolan/&file=vlc/0.8.6i/win32/vlc-0.8.6i-win32.exe

Better way is to save the file in the Notebook and double click it once the download is completed to install it.

I am sure this is going to resolve your play back issues.

Hp quickplay button issues - dv9000

Ok the problem lies within the software. You may need to update the driver. Yes drivers tell this device added what to do. So log onto HPs website, download the updated version. This should help, if this does not help it then becomes hardware, which is better off leaving alone do to the expense.
