Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have two HP deskjet printers, models 5550 and 5700. I use the 5700 on my laptop at my cottage and the 5550 at my home. Recently I printed a number of pages (not complete files) from Word Perfect on the 5700 at my cottage. Now that I am at my home and using my 5550 I cannot print any of those Word Perfect files even when I switch to the 5550 and designate it as the default printer and it is shown as the printer selected. The print job is switched to the 5700 and since this is not connected the page cannot be printed. I have the driver CDs for both printers. How can I restore the previous situation where I as able to switch between printers as needed and designate the 5550 as the printer to be used?

Printer stuck on pending

It sounds like the message to me that the printer and the pc are not communicating very well and when you went to print your 54 page document your printer could not handle such a big file there is a communication error between them both. have you updated your printer drivers ? have you run a virus scan on the document ? you might have a virus in one of the drivers for your printer ! what I would do is uninstall your printer from your pc go to add & remove programs remove your printer and then go to the HP website and fully download your software again for your printer when you go on to the HP website type in your printer model number and ask for a set up disk for your printer so just type in instalation disk for
HP Deskjet F390 it will cost you nothing this website will make sure you get everything you need to fully install your drivers back into your pc and any updates that you are missing hope that helps
Cheers

Has stopped printing but when i check i have a stack of stuff waiting to print why

I also recently had problems with my HP printer. I called the tollfree HP number, and was advised by the technician to try a "cold restart"'. This simply means to unplug the power cord and replug it , after a few seconds. It solved my printer's problems and I hope it works for you , too.
