I have a 2ltr 10 valve Volvo V70. that wont start.
On turning the key to the start position it starts, fires and runs for about 1 second, then stops. Further cranking on the key gives no further running. Leave it for 10 seconds then it will start and run again for a second.
I have tested fuel pressure, about 38 PSI continuosly,(fuel pump running ok) All the spark plugs are firing when cranking. I have tested the injector supply with a "Noid light" and the injector initialy gives a squirt and then no more. Any help or advise welcome.

At night, with the lights off and standing in some dark area, open the hood and look for fireworks.
I chased a similar problem, also degrading over days in a lousy Saturn the same year as your car, that was a miserable piece of junk only months after buying it new.
That particular problem, only one of dozens occurring before it self-destructed at 57,000 miles (dropped a rod bearing cap), was 'only' the spark plug wires that were leaking like crazy, arcing to every piece of metal possible.
The car was 3 years old at the time.
I STILL hate that car and GM! They deserve bad luck . . .

If the engine will not fire on starting fluid the problem lies elsewhere in ignition. Spark plugs etc. computer has a nofault safety start relay. meaning no spark , no fuel
you may want to check the noise suppression relay under the bonnet. A black relay with 4 wires either in front of the coolant tank or by driver side strut.

May have a faulty air/fuel ratio sensor or o2 sensor, throttle body may need adjusting or have a stretched spring or there may be grime restricting air flow so it's flooding it.
