Paper jam - I can see the jam, but don't know how to remove the paper.

Hello

Open the top cover of the printer.

If you can see the jammed paper, take one or more sheets of paper and pull them toward you.

While pulling the paper, press the RESUME button to turn the paper feed rollers.

If the paper needs to be fed in the opposite direction, release the RESUME button and then press it again.

If the paper is still jammed, turn the printer off or remove the power cord from the printer. Then turn the printer back on or plug the power cord in.

The printer will run through a reset cycle, which may clear the paper jam.

If the paper is still jammed or if several (8 to 10) sheets are jammed, take hold of a sheet in the middle of the stack using both hands.

With firm, even pressure, pull the sheet toward you.
Usually, removing one or two sheets from the middle of the stack will release the pressure and the rest of the stack can be removed.

Make sure no scraps of paper are left in the printer.

Close the top cover of the printer.

Try printing again.

Paper error showing. I pulled out paper jam and none showing, yet cannot get it to print

When the Printing job initiated, the pages will print slowly and we cannot pull the paper from the printer. That will lead to the paper push becomes inactive.

Thnigs to do for rectifify the problem :

01. Please remove the toner / cartridge from the Printer..
02. Please remove the jammed sheets from the roller.
03. If any other opening available in the printer, that also can be opened.
04. Please try to pull out all loose sheets available in the printer.
05. Clean the roller with good cloth and remove all dusts from the printer.
06. Install the papers in the In Tray properly.
07. Reboot the system along with the Printer.

The above points will solve your paper jam problem in the printer.

Have a Nice day

Paper Jam C84

Was the printer feeding multiple sheets at the same time, so that the sheer thickness of the wad caused the jam? If so, look into the slot where you load paper (this is called the automatic sheet feeder or ASF). You should see a small roller with a rubber coating. This is what pulls the sheets into the printer. Put one sheet of paper into the ASF and do a print. The Windows test print facility is convenient for this: start-control panel-printer and faxes, then right click your printer icon and select properties, then test print). If this works OK, put two pages into the ASF, then three etc. Observe what happens. If at some point more than one page is pulled in, it infers that the ASF is not working properly, in which case you will need to consult a technician (or have a go yourself at dismantling the printer). If the one-two-three-four etc page test doesn't produce a multiple feed, all it probably means, is that static electricity is holding the sheets tightly together. Make sure when you put a wad of paper into the ASF it has been fanned.

Report back on what you find, or if you have any queries on the above.

Some rubber lining or rollers is out of line, if you can fix that it may work properly.

Paper jams

  • Open the cover to the printer and look inside to see if there are any pieces of paper or debris that may be blocking the print path.
  • Be sure to unplug the printer before touching anything internal to avoid electric shock.
  • If there is something blocking the print path, remove it, close the printer, and try printing again.
  • You can also check inside the printer to see if any components have come loose.
===========
  • Look at the paper feeder assembly to see if the paper is slipping.
  • If so, the problem might be the type of paper you are using.
  • The paper feeder requires some friction between the sheets of paper so the top sheet can be pulled into the printing chamber.
  • Because printers use many different kinds of printing paper, you should check the printer manual to determine the specific paper type for your printer.

Paper is feeding unevenly on black & white prints

If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed:
  1. Press the power button to turn the printer off.
  2. Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
  3. Close the front cover.
  4. Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
  5. Resend your document to print.
Ensure that:
  • The paper is a recommended paper for inkjet printers.
  • You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
  • The printer is on a flat, level surface.
  • The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
  • You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
  • The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
  • Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
  • Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
  • You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.
Important: Your application may not be designed to print envelopes. For help, consult the documentation that accompanied your application.

Won't feed paper while printing

I just obtained a printer with the same problem. When I opened it up I discovered a plastic gear that had cracked and was not turning the main paper roller as it was slipping. It looks like the solution is to replace the roller if you can find one or to repair the gear and epoxy back onto the roller. I am trying the later.
