Lost windows login passwords isn't a big problem. I know a quick way to reset lost windows login passwords, only need to create a bootable disk or Usb memory card to reset lost windows password, I have made a bootable Dvd with the utility Windows Password Seeker and reset my admin password successfully. You could Google windows password seeker or visit their official site: http://www.passwordseeker.com

Best ways would be the following

  • Contact Asus for the recovery disc OR
  • Google TinyXP and install that. It's basically a highly modified version of XP that is very small and a good idea for a surf. Only takes up about 390MB of space.

Need to reinstall Windows XP on my Eee 900HA

Bill,
If you havent just replaced your hard drive or formatted it, try restoring from the restore partition. I have a newer ASUS netbook, so yours i believe should restore by rebooting the laptop and repeatedly pressing the F9 key. Do not hold down the F9 key, just keep tapping it when it starts up.

Follow prompts to restore your laptop to its original configuration when you first purchased it. Make sure to back up all your data, as it will be lost along with all programs and updates that have been installed since day 1.

If you have replaced the laptop or formatted it, then youll need to either attach a USB CD/DVD ROM drive or use a USB Flash drive. That method is much more involved, but can be done as long as you have a copy of a Windows XP CD.

I WANT TO REBOOT MY NETBOOK

Reboot the computer and as soon as it turns on start tapping F9 repeatedly. Do this immediatly after hitting the power button. If Windows Starts to load - you will need to reboot and retry.

Hitting F9 should take you to the recovery partition option. If you select to run it - it will erase everything on your laptop and set it back to factory defaults.

If you have more questions, consult the manual that you can download here: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=20&s=1&m=Eee%20PC%20R101&os=17&hashedid=GhBUCjHj4BRr7ndV

Hope that helps!

Hi Ali.
you could try this or go to the link at the bottom and have a read up of what else you could try.
Push the computer's F9 button until the Recovery System window appears. Choose the option for Windows Setup and select Recovery. You should see a message disclosing that you will lose all your files in the process as the Recovery puts the machine back to its original factory settings.
