Question about GN Netcom Radio Communications

Open Question

GN Netcom Ellipse 24

I moved from an office to a home office, and am trying to get my headset to work with my home office 2-line phone. I have it hooked up, but when I plug in the power to the headset, the headset makes an intermittent "ringing" noise. Sometimes it is constant, and other times it just comes and goes. It doesn't seem to be related to any other activity in the house (microwave, other phones, incoming calls, etc.)

SOURCE: GN Netcom GN 9120 - can't hear

Hi There, I had the same problem with a headset one of our call centre reps were using. It's usually due to some one fiddling with the button. I got it working by removing the battery from the headset then resinked the headset to the base unit. Hope it works for you

SOURCE: Cannot hear anything out of the earpiece of my GN netcom 9120 wireless headset

I was also experiencing the same problem (also after a power failure / storm) -- apparently good battery charge, connections ok, etc. I then tried removing the battery from the headset itself, waited 30 seconds, and then reinstalled the battery. This seems to have resolved the problem.

It is fairly easy to open the clamshell, but you will need a very fine Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery hold-in (it's really not a hold-down, it just keeps the battery in place. Reassemble the same way -- be sure to keep positive to positive and negative to negative.

SOURCE: GN Netcom GN 6210 - headset, no worky

Not sure what you mean by won't turn on.

If you mean no dial tone when you take it out of the cradle, I have run into this. The solution is to unplug the power cord and then plug it back in which resets the unit.

Your solution will depend on what type of phone and headset you have. I have a Polycom 501 IP phone with a headset jack and a GN Netcom 9125. I'm not using the lifter right now, but I seem to recall that an easy way to make it work was to plug the curly cord of the phone's handset into the bottom of the base unit, so that the cord went from the base of the headset to the headset jack on the base of the phone.

1. Be sure the jack on the base unit is clean and that the pins inside are straight. 2. If try line another cord - the cord is often the problem due to twisting or crimping. You can test the cord on another phone if you don't have a spare. 3. Make sure the headset is in the off or "on-hook" position. 4. To see if the unit itself is defective try it at a friend's house. Do other phones work OK on that line?

I had this problem a few months ago, make sure the small wheel on the side is set on A. (if you look closly at the wheel there are very small and hard to see letters on there.) this should get rid of the buzzing.

GN 9350 Wireless Headset doesn't ring on the headset when phone rings

It only picks up certain digital rings. I changed the ringer on my phone and had the same problem. To fix it, I had to plug in the little microphone that plugs into the handset lifter and place the mic over the ringer speaker. Now it works fine.
