Question about Sony Ericsson K800i Cellular Phone

Touch Screen/Buttons don't work

The three touch screen/buttons on my phone have stopped working making navigation and use of the phone impossible as the automatic keylock is on. To turn off need to disconnect the battery and can only make a call if I quickly turn the phone on and make the call before the key lock comes on. Have removed the outer case halves but can not see any obvious problems with flexi circuits. Any suggestions?

I'm in Malaysia . My samsung f480 touch screen is not working at all ... but the down three button is working ... what should i do ... ?

I recommend doing a hard reset on the phone (You will loose everything on it currently). I had a very similar problem with my phone, but the reset fixed it. I couldn't reset my phone through the preferences because the touch screen didn't work. I figured out this other method: 1. Power off the phone, 2. Hold down the lower volume button+power/sleep button, 3. Keep holding those two buttons until the phone comes up with a menu, 4. Use the up and down volume buttons to navigate the menu to: wipe data/factory reset and press the power/sleep button (to select), 5. Navigate the menu to: confirm and press the power/sleep button again, 6. It should do its thing.
SOME OF THE MENU NAMES MAY BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. If you are confused by my instructions or something is wrong, please let me know.

All of my buttons are frozen, phone starts up via

Hi There,
I believe that the ribbon attaching the keyboard and the screen may have become loose, that is why you are not able to make inputs to your screen. If your fone is still under warranty you should get it replaced as this is a manufacture fault.

Sir, try reinstalling your phone. This will make the phone to be back to its original settings and maybe can bring the phone's touch screen capability back.

Touch on touch screen phone not working

Hi, I have the HTC touch from bell. I too had the same problem with my screen. It stopped working completely. The phone is pretty much useless without the touch screen working, there is only 3 buttons on the phone! Can't even dial 911... So I was pretty pissed when the screen stopped working. Like others I searched the internet for answers and didn't really find too much. I found that maybe tapping the four corners of the screen firmly might work, but it didn't. Taking the protective cover off the screen might work, didn't work. I tried updating the ROM, using the official software from HTC website. I was able to update my phone, but my touch screen still didn't work. Someone said something about some copper connections inside the phone, need to be re-adjusted behind the screen or something like that. So I willing opened the phone (only 4 hex screws on the back) and took the front plastic cover off. If you look closely, you'll see the front cover is plugged into the 'motherboard' and you can simply unplug it. I unplug it and plug it back in, do a restart of the phone (take battery out and back in) and still nothing, screen doesn't work.
I noticed that on the front cover of the phone (underneath) you can see the copper band of wires that connect to the buttons and probably feeds the information from the touch screen to the 'computer'. I accidentally unplugged the wire (thought I broke it) but was able to insert it back in. I put the the cover back on, put the battery in, power up phone, BINGO! Touch screen works! What I did to make it work? Not sure...
But for people with the same problem. Try this:
1) update ROM

2) Unplug and plug back in that little wire.

Its the red circle I'm talking about.

Touch Screen 'Back' button on my K850i affected by every other button.

problem solved. i had the same problem but i fixed it somehow. one day i just took a iron thick pin and pressed the space between number 5 and left-down button(not in the gap). and then i pressed between left-down key. Instantly it started working fine. i dont know whether it was my luck or i just accidently found a solution.756425f.jpg
