Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:

FE-310

Other info here.

This is a fully automatic camera and you cannot directly set the speed or aperture. Try using the "scene" modes.

How do I change the aperture when my camera is in manual mode

You have to hold down the exposure compensation button at the same time as turning the control dial.
The values appear on the control panel screen.

I found this on page 33 of the manual...
Set the mode dial to M and turn the control dial to set the value.
• To set the shutter speed: Turn the control dial.
To set the aperture value:Turn the control dial while holding down the
[+-](exposure compensation) button.

The exposure level indicator appears on the control panel screen, showing the difference (ranging from -3 EV to +3 EV) between the exposure value calculated by the currently selected aperture
and shutter speed compared to the exposure value considered optimum by the camera.

Tip

How does aperture setting affect a photograph?

The aperture is the opening in the lens through which light passes to the image sensor. Changing the aperture setting allows you to control the depth of field of a photograph. When the aperture is opened to a widersetting, (indicated by a lower f-stop number) more light is passed to the imagesensor, creating more shallow depth of field. Closing the aperture (indicatedby a higher f-stop number) allows less light to pass to the image sensor, creating wider depth of field.

NOTE: The aperture setting is one of three primary settings usedto control the overall exposure of a photograph. The other two primary settingsare ISO and shutter speed. Because the three settings work together to produce the overall exposure for a photograph, changingthe aperture setting will require complimentary changes to either the ISO or shutter speed to produce a properly exposed photograph. These changes will bemade automatically by the camera in the Auto, Program, Aperture-priority andShutter-priority modes.

There are two ways tocontrol the aperture setting on the camera:
  • Aperture-priority mode (A) - When shooting in Aperture priority mode (A), you set the aperture value and the camera automatically sets the optimum shutter speed for you.
  • Manual mode (M) - When shooting in Manual mode (M), you control both aperture and shutter speed, which gives you maximum creative control to achieve the exact results you want.

I have my Olympus FE-160,the problem is whan I take pics,it came out all blurry and the color changes...am not sure whats going on?is there any way that can be fix?

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

The three possible culprits of your camera are the following:

1. Long Focal Length

2. Slow Shutter Speed

3. Wide Apertures

Here's what you've got to do:

1. Increase your shutter speed so that it is greater or equal to 1 over the focal length.

2. Attach the camera to a tripod to avoid camera shakes.

3. Keep your shutter speed to 1 / 60 - 1 / 125 when holding the camera in your hands.

4. Keep your aperture around f8.0, especially with along focal length.

5. In case, you buy another camera model, see to it that the camera is featured with image stabilization (IS) technology.

Thank you. Your problem is solved...

Where do I adjust the aperture on my Olympus 725Sw?

I've gone through the manual, and i don't think you can. Many simple point and shoot cameras have just one fixed aperture. In the manual, the only thing i found was on page "10. P (Program auto) The camera automatically sets the optimum aperture value and shutter speed for the brightness of the subject."

BLACK SCREEN WHEN TURNED ON

This is either a bad CCD or the lens aperture not opening. You could send it to mackcam.com or to olympus for an estimate. Might be looking at a $125 repair

I have an olympus stylus 850 sw, and i want to know how to adjust the aperture on the camera

This camera has a fixed lens and there is no way to change the aperture for the camera. It is a simple point and shoot model camera. The camera whether in Auto or Program mode will determine the best aperture and shutter speed to use based on the lighting conditions you are shooting in.
