To change from the offline mode, simply select the general profile on your phone, That is, Go to menu>settings>profiles>choose General and click on activate and your phone is back online.

Your phone might have switched to offline mode accidentally if your keypad is not locked and you have the phone in your pocket/bag.
Press the power button momentarily to bring out a list of profile options, and select "General";
or you can go to Menu -> Settings -> Profiles and choose Normal Mode;
or you can turn the phone completely off and then turn it back on; while the phone boots up you will be asked if you want to exit offline mode -> answer yes
In order to prevent the phone from switching modes, or making inadvertent calls, remember to lock the keypad when the phone is not in use:

check your simcard slot. or your simcard making sure it is properly inserted. you could clean the sim slot contacts ecause if the card is not being read properly, the phone goes to offline mode.
it is possible, if your phone has an offline mode. how to check this, go to your menu, select settings, check phone profiles, check for options, normal, silent, outdoor, meeting, offline, if you have the offline mode, you can use it. or just remove your sim and switch it on. if it goes to offline or no sim mode, you can use it as mp3 player.
dial 611 tell them you going vacation to asia or europe. and you need to unlock the phone so you can use temporary sim card to make phone calls from that country
I just did it with a little help from the first response. However, exact steps are: Go to SETTINGS then go to PROFILES. My cel options are NORMAL, SILENT etc. Go to NORMAL then....gees, since I have it on line again, I can't remember if you go to ACTIVATE or CUSTOMIZE. One of those two options will tell you, "YOU ARE OFFLINE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO ONLINE" Of course you will choose ONLINE and VOILA!
