Question about Televison & Video
If your replacement remote control is pre-programmed, it would be impossible to program the "right" code. You may have to try a different universal remote control. All universal remote controls do not contain all possible codes.

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

Your player and recorder are, most likely, on different codes. Press and hold ENTER and 2 on the remote for at least two seconds and you should be home and dry!

You have switched machine onto external link mode
Either press external link on remote or find it under the flap.
Has a small child been playing with the remote?
