Its not taking the picture

Hi there, I got a sony DSC-W55. When I press the button to take the picture it doesnt print it, the cam makes a noise as if the memory card is full, but its not the case. Battery is charged, card memory is empty, display works perfectly, all functions are ok, but I cant take any picture.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

It sounds like your lens is jammed and needs to be repaired or replaced and thats why you can't take a picture.

I know a place that can install a new lens in your camera for a very affordable price, just search 'darntoothysam' on Google and you will find it.

Sony DSC-W55, how to make the date to appear on the picture itself

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Sony dsc-w55 takes at least 3.5 - 4 seconds to take a shot. I'm missing way too many shots. I have a 2 GB mem card in that's virtually empty. Ideas?

you should have turned on the timer!!!
at the back side of your cam near the lcd screen, you should be able to see a small button with the clock symbol on it.
press it when you are ready to take a shot.you will be able to see the time delay in taking the shots varying from 2 sec to 5 sec etc.
press it continuously until it comes to zero!!!

Delay when taking picture

2 things to be checked to rectify this delay.
what size of memory stick you are using. 1GB is fine, 2GB slower the camera and 4GB is more then enough.
Check memory stick, is it full with files? try to make more free space in memory stick.
perform "intialization" by selecting in camera menu.
Good luck.

DSC-W55 movie camera video display problem

Your quality setting is probably set to the E-Mail quality. This makes the video low quality and tiny.

Just press the button that you use to delete pictures with the regular screen on and change the image quality.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55

It sounds like it is not making the connection with the button that activates that function. If you want to repair it yourself there is a guy in South Carolina who has lots of parts for all the Sony Cameras. I bought my LCD from him for $39.00 plus shipping and it works perfect. I put it in myself and saved a ton. If you buy the part from him he sends you pictures of him taking the camera apart so that you can repeat the process when you install it. I think his email is gerald.ray@aa-ark.com
