Can you hear it doing various thinks, ie the hard drive light activity, whilst the screen is blank?
I am thinking that the button the change the screen to the TV or scart socket has bee pressed which means you can choose between the laptop screen and tv screen or an external monitor.

Usually actived unsing combine "function" and "CRT/LCD" buttons (or similar names).

If your laptop screen is not working and is blank, you are out of luck as far as working on your computer. However, while there may be a major problem you need to troubleshoot, there are some easy solutions to keep in mind as well, such as brightness settings and your power source.

1. Check the power source. While you have presumably already attempted to turn your laptop on and off, the problem may lie with your AC power adapter. Is the power-indicator light on the adapter on? If not, your problem may lie here. However, whether or not you have a power indicator light on your adapter, consider unplugging it and plugging it into another outlet. This may turn on your laptop and take care of your blank-screen problem.

2. Check your brightness settings. While it seems like a simple oversight, the brightness on your laptop may sometimes be turned all the way down. Thus, the screen appears to be black, off or defective, when the problem is simply that the brightness is on its lowest setting. To fix the brightness, check your laptop keyboard. Most laptops have the brightness settings mapped to two keys at the top left of the keyboard, accompanied by a symbol (often a sun). Use these keys to fix your brightness, but keep in mind that some laptops require that you press the Function key at the same time as the Brightness key.

3. Check the status of your laptop battery itself. There should be a battery indicator on the laptop that is connected to the battery. This indicator is either on the bottom of the laptop or (likely) on the side. If there is no indicator, your battery itself may be the problem, and may require replacing. Keep in mind that older batteries of the nickel-cadmium variety are more likely to decharge over time and forget their initial maximum charge level; this may be a particular issue to users of older laptops.

4. Find a VGA connector and hook up your laptop to an external monitor if the above steps have not alleviated the blank-screen problem. Turn on the computer and the external monitor. Does the external monitor light up? If so, the blank screen is likely due to a video subset problem/LCD problem in your laptop.

5. Consider that a deeper problem may exist if the external monitor did not light up This problem may lie in the motherboard. In this case, taking the laptop to a professional repairman or sending it off to the manufacturer is recommended.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards from fixya

My laptop wont turn on or charge i bought a new charger and it still wont work how can i fix it?

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then -
The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

T3025 won't load os

Hi,

It Could be faulty memory. Find out what kind of memory you have and see if manufacturer has recommended memory settings for that board.

It could also be a faulty video card.. just replace it. or if u dont have one yet, the integrated graphics chip cud help for now.

Please let us know if that was helpful enough.

Good Luck & Thanks,
Shiv.

Toshiba replacement power cable

Sounds like you bought a generic replacement item. The laptop has circuitry to detect which adaptor is connected to it. If it detects that the adaptor is not capable of charging and operating at the same time, it will act accordingly. The adaptor has a power rating in watts. That number must be equal to the original or greater to work properly.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

My computer would not take a charge, so I bought a new battery, but it still want charge. What else could be the problem.

I'm confused.. you post this question on the pc desktop session... desktops do not have a battery... did you mean the power supply maybe??
if you actually have a laptop and you purchase a new battery please provide details on the lights that appear on the front of the computer when the computer is connected., there's a power light when the computer is plugged and a battery light that when charging is yellow/amber and when fully charged is green or blue.
if you in fact have a laptop and just replaced the battery depending on the lights you see in front it could be the connection on your computer attached to the motherboard right where you plugged your power cord, it's a fairly common problem that that little piece eventually starts crapping out on you. you need to get a replacement (ebay) and have it soldered onto the motherboard.. pay for it if you don't know how to do it.. it's a fairly delicate procedure.
again, depending on the lights you see, the othe problem could be your motherboard and your bios, flashing the bios may be something you may want to try.

post more details to see if there's something else that we may suggest.

My kids have tried to get onto my laptop without knowing the password . now the laptop will not come on . the light showing the power is on is displaying but the screen is totally blank . any sollutions...

hello chunk
Are you sure that your laptop is not in sleep mode .
Try turning off it by pressing your power button for a couple of minutes and then turn on .
Also charge your battery for at least one hour before operating it upon.
