The microphone does not work.

Make sure the mic is plugged in to the purple jack on the back of the machine - also make sure that the mic port is selected for recording - check control panel -> sounds and audio devices -> advanced under "device volume" - this will bring up the Volume Control - select Options -> properties -> recording and make sure that the Select box is checked under the microphone slider.

Check your game settings to see if your mic is enabled.
Also check your sound settings to see if the port where your mic plugs into is active.

Have brought mikomi dc-7120 webcam, mic doesn't work

make sure that the mic line is plugged in to the right port (i.e. pink), since most webcams have separate mic lines. then make sure the mic is not muted and is selected for capture on the volume control in windows.

I cant seem to get my microphone to work I have a store bought mic that I have hooked up to a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer plugged into my 1/8 mic port and it wont seem to work

A simple mistake that I have made in the past is that the mic is turned off. Is there a switch on the mic, and if so, make sure it's on. :)

After that, check in your mixer (Usually a speaker icon in your system tray) and make sure the mic isn't muted, and the volume is up. Also, if you have a mic boost, enable it. Try screaming at the mic, sometimes it's working, but really quiet.

Microphone freezes my computer when i use it

First you have to check the connecting the microphone in the right port. There are three port output, input and mic.In the mic port you can connect the microphone wire.

Then it will not work properly check the sound properties in the control panel for increase the volume in the mic properties.

please try it and inform to fixya.com

Plugs on front of computer r usless for my mic and headphones

In some cases the front sound is not actually connected to the motherboard, and will not function at all. If this is the case, you should still be able to plug the mic and speakers jacks into the back of the computer.

If the cables are connected and configured properly, sometimes is it necessary to use an audio control to enable the front ports. This control is sometimes displayed in the Tray (the icons next to the clock on the right hand side of the taskbar), or in the Control Panel.

lastly, on some computers, it is necessary to start the computer with the hardware connected, and it automatically configures the ports depending on what is plugged in.
