Question about T-Mobile Dash Smartphone

1 Answer

Reminders! For some of the reasons the calendar reminder doesnt ring, it vibrates and that is all. Even when choosing the tone for the reminder, it doesnt play the sound, though for the rest of the sounds it works quite well. I reset it, only during the first 10 minutes while i was setting it up it worked, but then when I wanted to check it, that "smart"-phone did the same thing, only pulsing vibrate, and no sound! Anybody can offer me or suggest a solution? Would be grateful!!!

I have the exact same problem!

  • ikhamraev Sep 22, 2008

Yeah man, I actually figured out it was the software problem. Even though i upgraded the software to WM 6 it didnt work. The ringer works fine, but the reminders kept vibrating. Then I downloaded the Kavana Software, no problems now. moreover it allows you to utilize the phone for 15555%

So the T-mobile software is waaay oversimplified!

    Thanks!!!

The phone has to be taken to a service center and have the either ringer replaced or it could be a software issue and then it would have to be reflash for the calendar reminder to work.

When I try to change settings on my yahoo calendar I get an error message

There are many potential reasons for this issue. Have you tried a different web browser - such as Google Chrome instead of Microsoft Internet Explorer? As for the address issue, you can update the contact address once you are logged into the Yahoo calendar area. It is under settings.

No ringtone vibration only

Hi there and good morning to you
Try if you can find on the screen a folder with adresses, calendar, settings and maybeother things as well. Go into settings. there should be different settings to set. Open "own settings" og something to that effect and do not open themes or home screen but "something general". There it is possible to choose your ringing tone wheater it is vibration, meeting, outdoors, new way.
It is something in that direction. When you have chosen a ringing tone press general. It is there where the fine tuning is done.
good luck

Ringer is marked as off on my blackberry bold 9700 and i have no sound

Hi,Sound profiles define how your BlackBerry device alerts you of phone calls, messages, reminders, and browser content.

Your device has a Normal sound profile and six other preloaded sound profiles: Loud, Medium, Vibrate Only, Silent, Phone Calls Only, and All Alerts Off.

By default, some of the settings in the preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile. For example, when you change the ring tone in the Normal sound profile, the ring tone in the Loud, Medium, and Phone Calls Only sound profiles is automatically updated. If you do not want specific settings for a preloaded sound profile to update automatically when you change the corresponding setting in the Normal profile, you can manually change the settings in that preloaded sound profile.

You can create custom sound profiles. When you assign a custom ring tone to a contact, the ring tone is always active and does not change when you switch sound profiles unless you switch to the All Alerts Off sound profile. Call and message notifications for your contacts might be audible even if you switch your sound profile to Silent or Vibrate Only.

You can change, rename, and delete most preloaded sound profiles. You cannot delete the Vibrate Only sound profile and you cannot change, rename or delete the All Alerts Off sound profiles. You can change the Normal sound profile, but you cannot rename or delete it because some of the settings in the other preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile.

Change a sound profile

If you change a setting in a preloaded sound profile that is based on the Normal sound profile, that change will override the corresponding Normal sound profile setting in the preloaded sound profile.

1. On the Home screen, click the Sounds icon.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
* To change the active sound profile, click Set Ring Tones/Alerts.
* To change a custom or preloaded sound profile, click Edit Profiles. Click a profile.
3. Click the application or item that you want to change.
4. Change the notification information.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
7. Press the Menu key.
8. Click Save.

Hope that helped...

My htc touch reminders won't sound. The general alarm works but not the reminder alarms in the calendar, texts, e-mail, missed calls etc all sound, just not the calendar reminders

From what I have already experienced so far, some WM6 builds seem to be prone to have their notifications queue messed up.
Google for 'checknotifications_arm.cab', intall it on your device, and tap on 'Options > Settings...', tick both checkboxes there. Tap ok,' and 'Clear', at the top of the application's screen. Your notifications queue will be free of garbage, now.
Then, go to your Calendar application, choose a day which has the next events with notifications (reminders), Edit each one of them twice: one to delete the Reminder settings, and another one to reset them (you'll notice that at the 2nd edititing action for each event, the Reminder settings will be shown as they were, prior to their deletion - less work to be done!). This will set Calendar entries in the notifications queue.
Your reminders should work from now on.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Cheers! Carlos

Phone stopped ringing, including alarm clock & calander reminders (though all set to ring). Vibration and keypad tones are still working

This is a firmware problem that is common with today's cell phones. You will either have to have carrier update the phone or exchange it.

Notification alert for calendar items on Samsung i780

Hi there!
Try to click the bell icon when you set your alarm and see if you have checked the box for "play sound".
Also, verify if your volume is up and not in "Off" mode.
Also, go to Settings, click Sounds and Notifications. Verify if you were able to check the "Enable sounds for programs" box and make sure the notifications box is checked.
And on the notifications tab select "Reminders" from the drop down menu for "Event" and ensure that "Play sound" and "repeat" are checked.
Hope this will solve your problem!
