I, too could use some help resetting bios pswrd. Have tried pulling batterys and pwr. source, and drained excess pwr, using pwr button. Still prompts for password on startup. If access to a jumper is required, plz be specific as to its location. Does it look the same as on a desktop pc?

What in the hell is the CMOS Jumper can you be a bit more specific.. Location... what do you mean by a tiny pin... Jumper. . your lingo is not that easy to understand.. Please come down to the layman's terminology.

You need to be techy on this one. you need to open the laptop. before you do that, be sure to remove all source of power (ac adapter and battery). press and hold the power button to drain all excess power. check the motherboard and reseat the CMOS jumper. it looks like a tiny pin. after reseating the jumper, reconnecting power and turn on the laptop.

i hope this helps.

Sorry to hear of your problem. I'm not too familiar with the T30, I jumped over that series and went from the E600/X600 directly to the T4X. I'm going to guess that the T30 is similar to the X600 as it was IBM in the same era. When I've replaced the CMOS in the 600, you have to sett all of the time and date clocks all over again. You should get a couple of error codes on the screen followed by an entry into the bios.

I have a T30 IBM Think Pad and cannot find the wireless switch. Can someone help me?

I don't think the T30 has an actual physical switch for the wireless. The ThinkPad button will show you how to do the wireless setup/repair. If you have Bluetooth on it, the Bluetooth indicator should be near the hinge.
