Vertical collapse of picture then no picture

Hitachi 53SBX59B Rear projection tv .
the unit powered up once and I took it into video chroma adjust mode
several values were not at the specified factory settings so I reset them to the service manuals specs, however on pg 6 the 1st line after v only had 1 hex value not two like in the service manual, also in pg 4 or 5 I cant remember, the first value on the hex set was rolling it would not stop maybe dc tc point, after setting these as best I could and setting the rest to factory specs the tv worked for a short time but the vertical height was not stable and was slowly collapsing (falling down the screen) , after a few min the screeen collapsed into an eye shaped collage of colors then the tv lost picture then came back then off etc a few times . now it will not display any image at all. any ideas would be appriciated is this a problem on the pow/def board or the signal board? I can get both replaced but I only need one I think. thanks
