SOURCE: Water leaking into machine
This happens when the boiler develops a leak, usually due to scale buildup. Order a new boiler and o-rings and replace.

It is normal for a small amount of water to come into the driptray after each coffee brew. This is the pressure releasing from the brew unit. After a while coffee grouts will build up in the bottom of the slot where the brew unit slides on to the valve. (you see this slot when brew unit is removed), Get a small thin wire to poke in the hole and gently pour small amount of water by hand to clear any blockages.
clear water leaks from under the m/c can indicate leaks ffrom the teflon joints and/or steam valve assy. Some early machines had plastic steam valve assy's and leaked like mad. New stainless steel ones are fitted now.
hope this helps

Hi,
You have to replace the gasket in the machine where the water tank goes in to the machine.

Sorry for the delay in response but I just read your complaint. I had similar water leakage issues and mistakenly replaced a bunch of stuff without stopping the leaks, until I discovered the real problem; the O ring seal that the water reservoir sits in located under the reservoir where it mates with the machine. Easy to replace and cheap. No leakage problems since I both replaced the O ring and started the routine of not taking off the water reservoir to fill it, but leaving it in place and filling it from a bottle. That technique does not any wear at all on the seal ring and so it won't leak in the future.
The item is called a "Saeco-water inlet valve gasket" , has a part number of NM05.006 and costs $7.50. I purchased it from Services Unlimited located at 650 N. Cannon Ave. WH-305, Lansdale PA 19446; phone 215-361-7000 Fax 215-361-7434, e mail [email protected] but you can find it at any authorized dealer, I am sure. I ordered two and with shipping the cost came to $21.50.
You can request a fax with a parts diagram and listing, which I found most helpful in diagnosing issues and see where stuff goes..
Hope this helps you..

I rang Saeco service centre about my leaking water tank and they posted me a new tank - no questions or need to return the faulty item. I believe there may be a bad batch of tanks which leak because of faulty valves.
