Hi to fix this proble you just need to follow the steps below:

1. Click Startdvd drive not working - vistastartbutton.jpg, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. 2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM. 3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete. 4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry. 5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete. 6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry. 7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

I have not a driver for matshita uj 850 d. the pc not recognised the cd/dvd. thank you.

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd burner then plug them back in this should activate the found new hardware wizard or you might have to uninstall then reinstall your DVD/CD or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
hope this helps

My Matshita UJ-840D DVD/CD-ROM Drive Stopped working

Hi,
i,m assuming this is A laptop Computer ?
The only thing you can try is this:-
go to My Computer/Control Panel/ System/Device Manager.
see if there are any yellow triangles or exclamation marks by your problem device. if so click un-install. then at the top of that page, there is a refresh icon or similar. which will rescan the systems bus.
failing this try add new hardware wizard, in control panel.
finally ensure the device is connected correctly, unlock/remove and re-insert. update any device drivers for this.

Matshita dvd-ram uj-831s driver missing

Hi,
please go in bios check the drive is shown there.
if shown and not showing in my computer then might be the os issue.
Go to the device manager and check any yellow question mark on the dvd/cd rom drive and if not then try following
Right click and uninstall the drive.
Go to IDE ATAPI controllers in device manager and uninstall secondary controllers or ata channel 1 from there.
Go to run option>type regedit and enter then>H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CURRENT CONTROL SET>CONTROL>CLASS>first entry starting with the 4D36 and single click on entry>on the right hand pane check for any lower or upper filter and if there delete both.

Restart the system twice then check if then also not working might be OS or drive faulty

Thanks.
