Hello Cheryl,
would you happen to have the make and model number of your unit by chance? By provideing the model and make of your unit I can locate your schematic and point out key areas that could be the fault causeing your issue at hand. I will await your reply.
Thank you
Rick
Hello there are 9 different units with the same model number there should be a letter at the end as you can see by clicking this link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir... due to there are differences in the number of parts used in some of them I try to be exact with which unit before makeing a solution. I will await your reply Thanks Rick
p.s I could just pick the first one on the list of 9 but then if you asked about the part number that you would order it might be different also how old is the unit.
Ah I have personally had this model at one point in my showroom click this link http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PL... part 151 is the electronic control and as a matter of fact I had the same thing happen to the one I had in which I had to replace the electronic control in the unit. I will await your reply as to the last digit in your model number so I can provide you with the correct part number that you would need to order. Try this first though unplug the unit for 7 minutes sometimes this allows the control to reset then you would use the instructions in your manual to try and set the control to the settings that you desired. If after this 7 minute time and you once again trying to reset the control you ended with the same circumstances you would have to replace the control just as I had to. If you have any other questions message me back. I will await your reply. Thanks again
Rick
I have also had a previous customer on here who left the unit unlugged for an hour an miraculously due to the 7 minutes did not work it did work for them after an hour being unplugged needless to say it worked for them for about 2 months longer and then they messaged me that they had to replace the control. If leaving the unit unplugged does not reset the control the part number that you would use to order the control is 297366300 and sears sells them for 85.54 if you would like to directly order the control from sears click this link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdir...= in which you can see the part and the price for yourself scroll up the top and click get help and someone will live chat with you enabling you order your part direct from them. There are other places that may be cheaper if you shop around I just did a comparison with another company which ended up being 88.11 for the part. I await your reply if you have any questions. Thanks
Rick
where are you located as in which state? As to how long it will stay frozen would depend on how much food you had inside the freezer you can read more about how long food stays frozen when a freezer loses power at this link http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/foodnu... it would be about two days if your unit were full and less if it were half full. If you use sears I think they are about the only one that is open sundays beside myself but I am located in Rhode Island the appliance repair companies I own cover all of Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts. If you can provide where you are located I might be able to find a couple companies that you can ask if they do stock that part most companies that are repair companies do not but most appliance parts companies do stock that part. I will wait for your reply
p.s this company has it in stock
http://www.allbrandonline.com/default.as... I do not know where you are located but I would suggest ordering from an appliance parts company and just replaceing the control yourself it removes easily with a flat screwdriver and the new one just snaps back into place. Instead of paying a repair companies I found your part fee as most due charge as well as there labor fee I would choose the appliance parts company over a service company due to it would cost less.
Thanks Rick
If your freezer was set to a tempreture below 0 and it were full then it would take longer for the food to defrost.
Rick
If you needed an extra day then or noticed the freezer was starting to defrost sooner then you had obtained the part you could get ice and pack it around your food or if you had an ice company in your area you could also get the blocks of ice which take longer to melt
Rick
Goto that link for sears and click up top where it says get help if you wish to order the part from them but ask how long it would take to reach you. They do also offer express mail of parts from the appliance parts companies but they do also charge about 25.00 more for them to send it that way.
If you have any further questions message me back. Please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. You would rank by clicking end chat, accepting solution, and chooseing how helpful I was. I will await your reply to if you have any further questions. Thanks again
Rick
I await your reply as to how you made out with the repair. Thanks again
Rick
