Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Xtant 3300x it powers up, no sound except when I turn the volume way up, then you can hear about .5 seconds of sound every other second or so. I have no popped caps, fried transistors, burnt traces or smells. I was thinking about the power supply?  I really love this amp and would hate to see it go. Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like it's going into protection mode.

Do any of the channels pop when it's switching on and off?

If you power it up via a single 15 amp fuse (in series with the B+ line), does it blow the fuse when it powers up?

PDX-5 is installed on 01 Honda Goldwing. Inputs from OEM radio are routed through adjustable converter to provide pre-amp signal. System connected to 4 speakers & 8" passive Bazooka tube. System plays...

it sounds like there might not be enough voltage to the amp check that first. If the voltage is lower than 12 volts when you get to that point then you need a stronger battery or a second battery.

Power light on the amp goes on after 5 sec off ultra linear 1200

If you run the remote from the battery you will need a on/off switch. Sounds like the amp is overheating. Also, I don't understand bridge the remote and power. They should be seperate going into the amp.

Amp volume problem

Sounds like you have a bad or dirty gain potentiometer. Try turning the gain up and down with the volume at a moderate level. If u hear static, it is possible the potentiometer is bad or dirty. Replace with one of the same value and see if that solves your problem.

Powers on but no sound

Check the main amp fuse under the hood, even if it looks good just change it. Often times that light on the amp can come on just from the power amp tunon wire. Try a friends subwoofer box just to make sure the connectors on your box are good, and if that doesn't work then give me some more details....year/make/model of car, what kind of sub, what types of things do you see on the side of the there a green light as well as a red light?
