I have a Series 90 Kenmore Dryer that will not start. I cleaned out the blower assembly. The timer works fine and it was drying and working up until a few hours ago. Now you push the start button and nothing happens. Suggestions? BTW - the electrical fuse is fine.

Kenmore Dryer-90 Series- Pushed Start button nothing happened

get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

Dryer stops but the timer continues on

Fixed! The "push to start" button was stuck. Must have been some dust. I pushed the knob a few times and that's all it took. Works fine now.

Dryer doesnt go on

I opened up the lower panel of my kenmore 90 and then removed the blower cover. I found two hair pins lodged in the blower and removed them. I tested the dryer with it open and the blower and drum began to turn again. I buttoned everything back up, and it is running fine now.

Nope change the control thermostat mounted beside the skinny white fuse on the blower housing.
