How To Find Your Radio/Stereo Unlock Code
<span><span>As a security feature, the Radio or Stereo Unlock Code is meant to prevent another person from using the Stock Stereo from your vehicle without proof of ownership of the vehicle. To obtain the Unlock Code for your Radio or Stereo, you will need the title, VIN, proof of insurance, etc. to prove that you own the vehicle or are authorized to Unlock the Stereo using the factory generated code. At the dealership, this should always be a free service, but some dealerships may charge to generate or lookup the Stereo Unlock Code.<br /><br />When
you have your Radio Unlock Code, use the Preset Keys to input this code
into your Stereo. You should hear a Beep when this code has been
entered, this is an Unlock Confirmation. To retrieve your code, try the
following suggestions:<br />
<ol>
<li>If you have your Service or Owners manual, usually in the Glove compartment, look for the Radio Security
Code in there. Usually it is on a White, Credit Card looking card, in
the Manual.</li>
<li>You can also check on the Sides of the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>Glove</span><span> </span><span>box</span></a>,
inside and outside, for the Radio Code. It may be on a Sticker.
Sometimes you can also find the Code under the Ash tray, on or around
the Door Jamb on the door, or on the <a href="/../cars/t8671868-unplugged_battery_post#"><span>vehicle</span></a>, and in the Trunk, or on the bottom of the Trunk Lid.</li>
<li>You can also use your VIN in many cases by calling the
Dealer Service Department, and they can lookup the Radio Code
using the VIN.</li>
<li>If all else fails, you will have to remove the Stereo
to gain access to the Serial Number. Write this number down and contact
your Local Dealership to retrieve the Unlock Code for your
Stereo. There is no charge for this.</li></ol></span></span>
