Question about Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

X5470 Power is to the printer but it won't turn on

The printer worked fine when I turned it off. The next time I started to use it the power button would not turn the printer on. I called tec support and I got a few hints and then the big blow. Must be hardware failure and since it was out of warranty (even though I bought it and hardly used it) it would cost more to fix than a new one and they gave me 20% off a new one with an ink cartridge and free shipping. Does anyone know how to take the %$&&%$$##@^&&*** thing apart so I can check for myself? It might just be something simple. I've taken screws out but it still won't come apart.
THANKS in advance

X5470 constantly is powering on and off

Please try the steps below:
  1. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the power source. Re-connect after 30 seconds to a different known working power outlet. Bypass any power surge devices or power extensions/strips and directly plug in the cord into the power outlet in the wall.
  3. Re-plug the power supply into the printer.
  4. Press the power button if the printer won't automatically power on.
If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance. Thanks.

Good morning, i was printing and the printer shut

Try to unplug the power adapter from the printer. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet in the wall. Replug the power cord after at least 10 seconds - bypass any power surge devices or power strips. Replug the power adapter into the printer. Your printer should automatically power on, otherwise, press the power button. If the printer still won't power on, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Lexmark x5470 used to work fine and stopped recognizing printing for the windows vista ?

Try to disconnect your printer from your Vista computer. Reboot your computer. Then, unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect your printer into the computer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues.

My Lexmark x5470 keeps turning on and off, but won't print anything. Message says align paper, however the paper is fine, then it turns itself off and then back on to tell me the same thing. I've...

Try to focus on the printer itself first. Remove the cartridges from the printer, close cover then unplug the power supply. The power supply is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging it back in the printer. When the printer's ready, reload the cartridges. Go through the alignment process. When it's done printing the alignment page, try to make a copy. If problem persists, I recommend you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further investigation. There might a hardware issue in the printer.

Lexmark X5470 powers on and off constantly

I encountered the exact same problem with my Lexmark X5470. After a power failure on Aug 20, the printer would reboot itself every few seconds. I unplugged the power cord and/or adapter for a few minutes and after replugging, it worked fine. However, the problem returns after I power off the printer and then turn it back on, in which case I unplug again for a few minutes. Hope this helps.

My lexmark x5470 will not turn on after disconnect power and reconnecting. Is there something else I can do?

Is the USB cable back in place? Try holding down the #9 button and the select button while you are powering up the unit. If that fails try pressing the select button after powering up the unit. I had a HP all in one 7170 and during a WILD lightning show I got hit through the phoneline. Zap "All Gone!" I called HP support and they gave me these two steps to try, hope one works for you, if not it's time to go shoppin.
