Craftsman 1245LM reprogram

I moved into a new home and am trying to reset and reprogram the keypad outside the garage because we dont know what it was how do we do this??? It is a Craftsman LiftMaster 1245LM

I moved to a new home with the Sear garage opener 139.53636srt - I am trying to figure out how to program or reprogram the wireless keyless entry pad thats mounted outside the garage.

First thing is to make sure the battery is good.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

On the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find the smart/learn button. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter. Should do it.

Have a Craftsman Garage door opener (SRT series, red button) and a wireless keypad outside the door. Just moved in the house and past owner didn't leave the code. How can I reprogram a new one?

Reprogram keypad with new code

Here is a link that will give you the programming instructions for your model.
Use the model number from the motor unit, not the remote. I believe that Craftsman now goes under the Liftmaster name.

Craftsman outside keypad

On the back panel of the opener itself is a small pushbutton. Press the button and the indicator near it will light. While the indicator is lit, enter the new 4-digit code on your keypad and it will be set. (You are actually programming the receiver with the new code this way. The wireless keypad doesn't store a code.) The programming light goes off on its own.

The keypad outside has manuals online that you could use, but for simplicity, Have someone go to that back of the machine and press the "Learn" button, once its is pressed, the yellow light should blink. Enter a new code (4digit) into the keypad and press the enter button. You should then hear a click and the lights on the machine should flash. That will program your keypad.
