Question about Sony KDF-50E2000 50" HDTV

1 Answer

KDF-50E2000 Error code 6

I've picked up the repair manual for my TV. The 6 flashes error is said to be the "Low B LVP" error which is related to a thing called the thermal fuse. I've cracked the thing open and expected to find a fuse with a part number, but I now know I'm lost. I can pay to take it in, but it would mean a lot to me to do it myself. Any suggestions on what I'm looking for (manual suggests pin126 on the TV-micro) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I see several non-conventional fuses on the appropriate board similar to these. Has anyone made this fix before? Thanks

I have mitsubishi vs 60719 chassis vz9 will not power up error code 21 all standby voltages are good 5 fuses are good when plugged in led 3 flashes led stays on for 15-20 sec no relay clicking or any...

most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit

KDF-50E2000 TV stays on for several hours but after being on for extended periods of time the Power LED flashes a series of 3 blinks. I read somewhere that it was a code for Voltage overprotection....

orcording to service manual a blink of 3 indicates a loose lamp door or a inproperly seated lamp....have you recently replace the lamp? and this cound also mean the lamp is begining to fail. reseat the lamp and check the door. make sure the air vents are cleared

No pictuer no sound

your user manual will have the flashing light code structure indicating the fault that caused the shutdown there is no thermal fuse in your TV

projection TV`s have integrated protection circuits
built into the circuit design, these circuits turn the
power off automatically when a fault has bin detected this
is in order to prevent a more costly repair, these circuits monitor
power supply , vertical and horizontal deflection
over voltage, or x ray, and also faults with convergence circuits.
Diagnosing these faults require test equipment and a good knowledge of
electronic repair techniques, and also a repair manual.

Sony KDF-50E2000 shuts down and blinks repeatedly twice.

The 2 blink error is a temperature error and the 6 blink error is a thermal fuse error. You may need to unplug the set and get you a can of canned air, take off the back lower cover and blow out all of the fans inside the set.
