Question about Panasonic Fax Machines

1 Answer

We have a Panasonic AS-300N electric stapler that only works some of the time. When it doesn't work, we put the paper in the slot and nothing happens. Sometimes if we unplug it and plug it back in, it will staple once and then not staple again. Do you have any ideas of what might be causing the problem? Does the little plastic lever tell the machine to staple or is there another type of sensor. Thank you, Dean

Thank you. The plastic lever returns just fine. I think you are saying that there is another sensor that tells the machine to staple. Where is it located and what does it look like? Thanks again.

Yes the plastic lever triggers the sensor, it may not be going back in place. It is supposed to have a spring like action, so that when you remove the paper it goes back to it's original position. check and see if it gets stuck, or maybe try blowing on the sensor , could be dirty.

no, I was talking about the one you mentioned,

try this, unplug and plug in and staple : does it staple when the white plastic is triggered?

you may have to take off the covers to see the mechanism and diagnose it better.

1-either the sensor is dirty ( the white plastic piece is just a flag, ittriggers the sensor depending on the position it is in)

    2-or the board is

We purchased Martin Yale booklet maker 2 mos ago. We are having trouble with the stapler. It doesn't staple. The spring looks to be stretched. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello,
does the stapler tryes to staple or it is not moving?

If it does try to staple, then you are probably right regarding the streched spring. Try to tense them and see if it will work.

This is problem that can't be solved without seeing the machine, call service...

I have a rexel odyssey heavy duty stapler but the spring has popped out, how and where do I attach it back on?

Rexel Odyssey heavy duty stapler: The pring that pushes the staples into position can come losse if the stapler iss dropped. It's difficult to work out how to replace it! However, there are only two "lugs" that will take the circular ends of the spring. One obviously fits to the sliding staple retainer. The other to the back end of the pressed-metal inner body. However, to work, the spring must be threaded from this point along the pressed metal parallel-sided inner body back through a slot and over a rounded bent piece (shiny from prvious friction) and back down to the sliding staple retainer. It's trickey to do, but that's where it has to go in order to provide forward tension when the Stapler is closed.

The stapler will only work 1 time. then you must manually push the staples forward. the spring is not strong enough to do that. thanks. Jim

Usually, it is not the spring, but, rather, the stapler is clogged. Turn off the power and gain access to the stapler slide mechanism. Look carefully along the track and the hammer mechanism for pieces of a broken staple or paper chad. Wipe clean and give a light spray of silicone, wipe down and re-assemble. This should clear the problem. Please post back if other issues arise from your inspection.

My Swingline Stapler Model 51110 electric stapler no longer staples. The staples will not move forward and it just does "blank" stapling. Also, it goes off on it's own all the time running stapples...

I have the same issue; however, there is some resinous material that came out of it as a result of my trying to figure out why it wasn't stapling anymore. Anyone know where I can take it for repair?

Stapler (swingline 211xx) has jammed. It is electric. When I plug it in it make a very loud noise like it's trying to staple but nothing happens. When i press the release button on the top the stapler tray...

Turn the stapler over, remove the batteries, then remove the black pads and the four screwa under them. Take off the bottom cover and you will see the clear tabs of the cover sticking through the bottom plate. Pust them with a screwdriver toward the center of the stapler while squeezing the cover from the other side. Chances are that you will find the plunger that drives the staples is misaligned. Bend it gently forward or back until it moves without binding. Good Luck!

Staples penetrate, but do not bend

If you unscrew 4 bottom screws to lift the top cover, you may find out that there are 2 orange rubbers above its hammer that broke and needs to be replaced.

Panosonic Electric Stapler does not staple paper!

It could be either jammed up with staples or the spring mechanism is shoddy.

I got Panafax UF-595 and this fax keeps saying "check cassette info code=011" and does nothing else. What am I supposed to do to make it work?

There is a small plastic tab broken off of the front of the paper cassette.

Remove the paper cassette
remove the rear brown tray
remove the toner
set the machine on it's back side
wad up a small piece of electrical tape

stick the tape in the black U-shaped photo sensor at the bottom left corner of the machine to cheat it.

AS 300 electric stapler--pulled out jammed staples but even though it staples, it won't grab the staples (staples as though empty)

What has most likely happened is part of a staple is stuck in the front portion of the stapler where it forms the staple and presses it into the stapler.
You would most likely have to remove the stapler, and remove the binding staple from the stapler head.
